:hi:

O golly gosh .. All these good suggestions ..Well I use Calendula ointment if I get any cracked or dry skin.. It is very soothing and seems to work ok..

Vicks vapour rub is a pretty good marketing job done on punters by the manufacturers .. It works .. no problems there at all.

The only problem is that it is really just a great blob of soft white parrifin wax or in more common terms garden variety petroleum jelly with a dash of camphor and menthol mixed with it to make it smell good and warmish and gives it a bit of ommph for chest soothing and runny nose soothing amongst other things ..

If you are using vicks save a bit of money and just get a small pottle of petroleum Jelly .. you can buy it in big tubs like 2 kilo etc from any pharmecutical or chemical suppliers or try one of the petrol wholesales or suppliers like mobil or texaco etc .. They will usually have it by the name of soft white parrifin wax or pet jellly . you can get it in different grades ie 10 15 or , 10 being the most refined and the one used by ointment manufacturers ..

Hope that may help some folk .. and yes It is good for pitted nails, cracked nails and soothing torn quicks etc .. very soothing .. good also for cracked heels and bunions and carbunckles as well..

Fish

Gosh Ami I read your post and it reminded me of something I used to do in high school.
I'd use about 1/3to 1/2 cup of Oatmeal and make a paste and put it on my face to dry as a mask. I left it on til it really dried and washed it off with water. Not very lovely but it really did help my skin and made my face feel great!
Jan
