Title: Dovonex Not For Me
Post by: peterb on May 04, 2003, 10:49:21 AM

Had some more Dovonex the other day from GP, the Green Top one, put some on two nights ago, woke up yesterday sore as hell. It must have spread in the night and inflammed the good skin, and I have come out in a rash where it spread to. Last time I tried Dovonex it did the same, but didn't put two and two together, but this time it has confirmed it. Another Medication i'll have to stay clear of. ???

I'll have to see :-\, i'll scan a picture of my forearm tonight. You'll be surprised how quickly it has erupted, from Saturday from a couple of spots, to what you will see today >:(. This is how quickly i've been erupting for last 8 months, and the thing that is surprising me, is, how quick it also dissapears?

Here you are then, my arm within 4 days of P outbreak, it all started with the tiny red dots I have on my arm. This is also the way it's been getting me, back, waist, legs. The strange thing is within two weeks+. it will all die back for a few weeks then return.

Hi Peter sorry your P is playing up again, and dovonex is not working for you.It works pretty good for me,I use it very sparingly though.EG got script last june 120gr and still got 60 grms left..
Have you tried keeping a diary to see if you are eating or doing anything everytime you have a flare up...

NO Ian

But it must be stressed related, but it has been going on for far too long now. Either that or being 50+, hormonal changes?

Saw GP yesterday and he is making an Emergency appt to see Derm, as all the constant flares I have been having, my P is Erythrodermic. Which is a polite way of saying its widespread and can cause complications with infections etc. Although last 2 days it has abated a lot, not a lot of scales or soreness or itching, just smooth and very red ( like sunburn). But is getting better, I may ask for Infliximab as an outpatient to try for one full course of treatment, I was offered this as a possiblity before.

Hope they don't drag their feet in getting you that appointment Peter. If you can get something to break this bloooomin long cycle you're having, then hopefully it will pull it's head back in.

I think you maybe right Ian, it has started to flare again today on the insides of thighs again, Sudocreme, Drapolene dont seem to help. This is getting bloody annoying, there doesn't seem no end in sight to these continual flares. >:(

I hate it when it starts, it can get really angry and red for a few days till it comes out and settles.

Rock,

Are you finding that you are getting really stressed when you see it starting to flare?

I'm wondering about the stress / flare cycle ?

Upto a point YES, but only in the sense there doesn't seem no end to it. Although not so stressed as I was, and for obvious reasons. You may have a point, but what is the answer then?
