Title: The relationship between protein intake and Eczema

I've heard from somewhere a long time ago that a high protein intake can help trigger your Eczema. Is this true? How so?

It was mentioned protein in particular because saying milk would imply dairy products (which is also rich in protein, but you could be allergic to casein instead if i'm not mistaken) and not protein.

Other food that is rich in protein besides milk:
1) nuts
2) red meat
3) soya (not rich, but definitely has enough protein to help you out)
4) fish (not rich again, but definitely has enough protein to help you out)


Anyone know more info on this?

I think there is are food items that can affect the eczema but is different for everyone.

Some examples of mine are:
- Foods containing MSG - don't care what the science says about us producing MSG (natural). I just know that crisps, foods, etc that contain chemically produced MSG makes my neck, cheek and arms itchy. However this might be due to its dehydrating effects.
- Peaches and cherries - make my face itchy. Cherries in particular have an aweful effect on my face.
- Peanuts make my neck itchy

I have not had a food test to check these - but they are pretty instant.

I have no problems with fish and vegetables.

I am playing with the idea of an enema to help reduce stress on the liver (I believe protein intake produces toxins that the liver has to clean up - but please check)

The skin is made up of protein, so a high lean protein intake is actually quite good as long as you eat it with lots of salad to balance it out.
