i know i should be put down just about now cos it seems like i have everything going in the medical dictionary but i'm quite curfuddled by this one. For quite a while now, i've been getting these strange feelings like i'm going to faint but i dont. I just go slightly lightheaded. always seems to happen when i go supermarket shopping (before i find out how much the weekly shop is! Wink Grin) but its happening when i'm out in fresh air too.

I go a bit wobbly and i'm worried that i'm going to break something...not of mine but of some shopowners...ie...china!  Roll Eyes

it might be all the meds i'm taking just now for various things. I'm sleeping ok...maybe a bit broken but i'm getting more than i did before i moved to wales. I'm fine in the car, concentration is ok...seems like its when i'm walking around. I dont want to bother the doc about this as its pretty trivial i'm sure and theres probably a rational explaination about it all.

oh well...another one to add to rosie's list of eebie jeebies  ROFL

It might be anxiety Rosie - and after all you have been thru a lot of emotional upheaval lately.  Even positive happy changes (like moving in with the Rock) can take their toll on your nerves plus you still have lots of unresolved issues in your life.

When I was going thru my own troubles about 8 or 9 years ago I felt exactly the same way whenever I was in a bus or a car.  I also used to feel dizzy and light headed when I wanted to sit on my sofa for some reason.  Turned out I was suffering from clinical anxiety.

When you next feel like that try breathing into your hand or a paper bag.  You might be hyperventilating and that can cause the symptoms you describe.

Try to relax or take some nice long walks to get those endorphins going.  If the sysmtoms persist I think you should speak to your doctor tho coz it is not nice feeling like that as I know from my own experience.

Take care Rosie.

Try not to be a worry wort!

 Hug Gobe

you may be right. I'm still not very good in crowded places although a lot better than this time last year! Although i'm not 'stressed' by all the people about whilst shopping, there must be something underlying deep inside. Although i do enjoy going out a lot, i'm glad to come home to a 'safe haven'. If i've made this much progress in a year, then who knows what i'll be like this time next year... Crossed Fingers Thumbs up

Sounds to me like anxiety too Rosie, and no wonder honey!

When you feel lightheaded try controlling your breathing by taking long slow breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Should help the light headedness go away and help you get through the horrible sensation.

It does sound like anxiety to me as well. I had symptoms very like that after having two ectopics a couple of years ago. Between that and being close to breaking into tears whenever I passed the baby section, shopping in the local supermarket was a nightmare for a while!

I'd go for that too.

If you go woosey when you hit fresh air then that's a pretty good sign.

i know EXACTLY what you mean Dhia! I lost 3 babies at 12 weeks and my darling emily at nearly 6 months gestation due to prem labour. After each one, every woman i saw was pregnant or with kids. I had to go shopping in Sainsburys only a few days after i gave birth to emily and it was horrendous, i made it through but i almost lost it outside. Also shopping for food for emily's wake was a nightmare...seemed like it was happy families day AND they had to have the plastic cultery and paper plates right in the same darn aisle as the baby stuff didnt they!  Angry Cry

so sorry to hear about yr losses.  Hug

proved a point to myself today. Went to Pontypridd with pete and megan to the 'picnic in the park'...didnt go into any shops...just walked about the park looking at all the stalls and entertainment and then took meg to the playground. I had NO trouble with lightheadedness, no nausea, not even a whisper of a panic attack! So it must be just shops...enclosed spaces etc. Strange girl i am huh!
