Mo, did the doc explain why the test was being done? Do you need to return to the doc to get an explanation of the results? From what I gather, protein in the urine may be a sign of kidney disfunction. Here are a couple of websites for you: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003580.htmhttp://diabetes.about.com/cs/kidneydisease/p/urine_protein.htm totalfolly

Don't be scared yet, Mo! Wait till you've seen a doc and had your test results interpreted. They can tell you what all this stuff means and what can be done about it. totalfolly

Hi Mo
protien in the urine is a very common problem. It can be as simple as the urine being contaminated when the sample was taken (very common when you collect a sample yourself in a clean container that may not be as clean as you think). It could be a urine infection, cystitis, kidney infection or something similar.
I wouldn't worry too much Mo, you may find that the next test is negative - if not your gp should prescribe you with antibiotics which are specific for this type of problem.

Thanks all, Dr as asured me it could just be a blip as I have had a bad virus, that gave me a sore throat one side of my throat, so that could have been one of my tonsils as the other side did not seem to be sore. Also the virus went to my stomach which made me feel pretty low for a week or so. Will be having another urine test and fasting bloods in 2 weeks time God help me poor hands, because that is where they take my blood, my arms are usless for blood tests, the nurses can't find the veins , gone missing me thinks Diabetes being controlled by diet at the moment, but do take HBP tabs, Cholestral tabs and my efexor as been upped to two a day now, shake me I rattle, sqeeze me I cry, please some one love me
