:help: Hi everyone! I am new to this so bear with me! Over the past three months I have been dealing with a skin rash. It first became noticable when I was at gym running and looked down at my arms and noticed circular red spots ( they are not raised) all over.  They are the size of a pencil eraser and seem to concentrate on my arms, feet and legs.  I seem to only get them whenever I would get hot or highly stressed. I am now noticing that they appear when I go out into the sun. Within 5 minutes they form. They are not itchy. My hands and arms will sometimes feel like they are slightly burning or a pins-and -needles feeling. I have been to the allergist and he has prescibed 3 different types of anti-histamines, which are not working. I have an appt to see the dermatologist next week. I have had blood work done and everything came back fine.
Please help! I am slowly slipping into a depression over this .  I cannot go into the sun nor exercise b/c I am afraid.  Cry

I had a visit with the dermatologist Friday. He told me he wasnt sure what was wrong with me, but that I shouldnt worry because the rash disapears as quickly as it comes. He said this was not something that he could treat with medicine because the symptoms go away. I felt a little frusturated to say the least b/c now I have visited a internist, allergist (twice) and a dermatologist who cant tell me anything!!

Sorry you didn't get better results, but don't give up, sometimes you have to keep pushing the doctors to take you serious. don't forget were here for you. Hug

Thank you for your response. I am visiting my allergist Wed. to run on the treadmill to show him the rash first hand.  We will see what happens then... In the meantime, I have a slight burning sensation on my arms and hands!  I cant figure it out...  Huh

Have you heard of a condition called  Vasculitis?  I was wondering if this could be it???

Hi there runr0120,

Welcome to our SkinCell cyber family. Grin

Sorry to hear you have this problem and that all those specialists haven't yet been able to tell you what it is. Hug

Hope the treadmill works so that your allergist can see for themselves and maybe pinpoint what the problem is. Crossed Fingers

Try not to let it bring on depression, and I know that's easy for me to say and hard for you to do, but stress really is our skins enemy. Hug

Keep coming in here and talking to us and when you get down with it all, go into the rant room and just let off some cyber steam. A crowd of us will come in and join you as well, so you won't feel alone. Hug Wink

Well, he had me run on the treadmill and within 15 minutes I broke out into a rash allover. It was burning and itchy. He diagnosed me with Cholinergic Uticaria. Once again he prescibed more new medicine, this time Singulair and Zantag. He also said that if this doesnt help he knows of a specialist in Tampa that I should go see. I am going to give the medicine a week and if their is no improvement, I will try to get a Dr's visit. I am soo uncomfortable. I cant find any relief so far.
I hope and pray this med works or the specialist can do something for me. Have you heard of anyone with this condition?

There are so many skin problems out there, i'm sure there are plenty of people with this condition or something very similar.

Try not to be too dissapointed if this medication does'nt work, you'll only make yourself feel worse, and where's the sense in that?  As time goes on you'll find out more about your condition, and things won't seem as bad as they probably do now.

Take it easy, steve.

 :hi:Runr,
I hope the meds will help you with your condition. As you know I have solar urticaria (sun allergy) but I also have another problem that has started in the last few months. When I take a warm/hot bath I get what looks like heat rash, do you get this? Maybe between the two of us we can figure out what's going on with our bodies.

Dance Hello everyone and thank you for your support! It means a lot to me when people share their encouragement. I have been taking the meds for 3 days now. I cant tell yet if I am responding to them , but pray that they will help.  Thumbs up

This is very hard for me to accept due to the fact that I was once an avid runner and live in Florida! (both which involve HEAT! ) I am willing to go to Tampa to visit a specialist in this field of allergy. I made an appt for next month and am anxious!

Shakes head  Poochie, have you tried any medications? Please feel free to send me an email.
Thank you again and I will keep ya updated!
