OK guys, so I've got something that seems to be working, but it could be more than one thing. I tried the PM eye gel, but with no success. Plus, might I add, ewww. Now I'm trying curex cream for jock itch, and it seems to be working. Hopefully there are no ramifications/side affects. I also broke out my fan to have it blowing on me in the evening so I don't get so warm. I've only been doing this for about 2 days, but I can already see a difference. I'll keep you posted on the rest of the progress. BTW, tell me if the curex is a bad idea.

I am pretty sure my rash is from allergies, but not 100% positive. My eyes often seem red and bloodshot, but not always. I have been putting these eyedrops in before I go to sleep, and it seems to help. My rash doesn't really look like mominutahs'! My rash consists of red bumps around my eyes. I am thinking about going to see a new doctor about it, but don't think he will know what it is!

I too have  a rash about my eyes it started in august of 2007  on my right eye lid ,at the time my eyes were watering from allergies ,I dont think the rash is a allergy but might have started from my rubbing my eyes ,my rash now is spreaded to both eyes and has really wrinkled them like a curtain being drawn they are vertical instead of horizontial(crows feet) the rash is very dry and so ichy - I try not to scratch but I give in.I have seen the doctor twice for it and they just switch my allergy meds about,no help for the rash ,she did say try cucumber slices -I can only tell you -it annoyed my eyelids- I tried a anti fungal - It burned-its now nov of 2007 and I still have the rash worse then ever- any suggestions?
thank you

Hi
I have horrible dermatitis on my face it has become worse and spreads every year. First it was a little patch on chin now it is almost everywhere. I took topical steroids for years. I got off and used elidel, but it worked at first and now i looked up some info on the web and it says it can cause cancer. what are others views and what do people do for the red burning itchy inflamed skin that is so embarrassing as i have to face the public everyday!
Thanks

I have a rash around my eyes also . Started over a month ago in the crows feet outer eye/high cheek area where my tears leak out . It is also on my eyelids a little. Seems to be caused or aggravated by the tears where they dry just like a few others here have mentioned . Looks like really tame poison ivy and is not as itchy. I have tried bacitracin, jojoba oil, not using any soap on my face, sea breeze , switching contact lens solution and shampoo, and vitamin e with no good results . The only thing that has worked at all is warm tea bags. I put freshly used Barrys irish tea bags in the micro wave and then put the warm tea bags on the flare ups and let my skin air dry afterward a few times a day and that helps minimize the rash but hasn't wiped it out. Wishing you all luck and a rash free existence !

Hi.  I am new here.  I have had the same sort of rash under the eyes....but have a problem with the eyelids as well.   Eyelids get scaly and extremely painful and swollen.   It is on and off to varying degrees.  Have seen one regular doctor, 2 derms, and allergist who did patch testing with all negative results.    I don't know where to turn anymore.

Hiya, skromom, and welcome to SkinCell!

Do you get a crusty deposit on the edges of your lids, particularly when you wake up in the morning?  It may be blepharitis.

Hi all,
well I am both pleased and perplexed that so many of us appear to be suffering from the same ailment.
My 'eye rash' began about 6 months ago in its current form, but I also remember having a sporadic scaly rash on my eyelids for about 6 months 5 years ago which cleared up on its own without any intervention.

In short about 6 months ago I started getting a few red bumps at the corner of my left eye, I suffer from bouts of dermatitis on my hands so stuck a tiny bit of Betnovate on it and it cleared up... or so I thought. Since then it has recurred many times and each time seems to get a little bit worse. I've tried everything I can think of changing, soap, detergents, foods as you all have. I visited the doctor in the hope that a medical practitioner could solve it, but sadly his only solution was to apply hydrocortisone cream - which doesn't work.

As far as make-up is concerned, I think it is one of the least likely perpetrators as the cosmetics industry spend an awful lot of time and money making hypo allergenic & sensitive skin products, so I'm happily ruling that out. (I have tried the make up free thing and although it didn't make it any worse, it also didn't cure it)

What I have tried:
Witch Hazel - tried for 3 days and found that it aggravated the rash
Hydrocortisone - helped to begin with then no effect
Betnovate - some results to begin with now no effect
Baby cradle cap shampoo - aggravated
Aloe Vera - no improvement but calmed the burning
Canasten cream - no effect

Here's a pic I took with me to the doctors in case the rash decided to clear up before my appointment, hope it helps

I wondered whether the rash could be fungal, bacterial, viral or an allergic reaction, but nothing to target each of these has worked so far. If like 5 years ago, it just clears up on its own I will be extatic, but like most of you, I am thoroughly p'd off with it. I hope I can give you some good news soon Angry

Following a hunch and from reading many other peoples homeopathic solution offerings, I am currently trying natural yoghurt. It feels cool and is a welcome relief, but whether it will get rid of the rash, I'll let you know. I keep thinking there has to be a reason, but I can't bleedin' work it out!
Good luck everyone

Update on the yogurt - don't bother it has just aggravated my rash further and as well as the rash I have a big red patch... marvellous!

Just a thought, but has anyone tried dead sea salt - diluted in water of course?

Great news!
I have actually found something that has cleared up my eye rash. I decided in desperation to order some cream from ebay called Magicream (in a tiny little yellow pot) It is apparently made from totally natural and herbal ingredients so no nasty chemicals or lanolin. I don't want to sound like I'm selling it as it may not work for everyone, but it's worked wonders for me.

My rash was at it's worst, all red, lumpy and generally sore. I applied the cream before bed and I couldn't believe it when I woke up, the redness had gone, the lumps had smoothed and all traces of the rash had pretty much vanished. I was hoping for some result, but this was fantastic. I continued to use it every night and within 3 days my skin looked like it used to and people actually commented on how well I was looking. I carried on using it for about a week out of fear that the rash would return if I stopped, but I have now not used it for 2 days and everything is still looking great!

I'm so pleased and if this helps anyone else - even better.
Good luck  Grin Grin

Something worked for me...

We actually got the idea from the post above!

I have the same symptom as most. Began w/ eyes tearing at corner, reddish rash commenced and it just would not go away. I checked this site often and tried many of the solutions including dandruff shampoo, yogurt and calendula oil.  Calendula oil worked for a day or so, then the condition flared up again...ok, here is what worked..

My girlfriend researched that a cream called 'Magicream'  http://www.magicream123.com/ contained certain Asian herbs. We did not use the cream because we did not find it where we live and so she went to Chinatown and got four of the five herbs in an herb shop, just to see. We tried one application and worked quite well. I went back and got a larger portion and all five herbs this time. It cleared everything up in less than a week! Here is what to get and how to apply:

Herbs are:

Chuan Shen
Wubeizi
Zaojiaoci
Kushen
Huangbo

Ask for “two hand fulls” (an amount you can hold in the palms of your two hands), you boil the mixture in four cups of cold water. As soon as it starts to boil, reduce heat and reduce to one cup. Let it cool and apply over eyes w/ a compress (rag in the mixture, apply over eyes, leave 15 minutes or so…) and that did it for me! First application, you see it working. By the third day it is mostly gone. All disappears by the fifth day. Make sure you do the compresses morning and then again in the evening.

Most large cities have Chinese herb shops, here is where I got mine. They're really nice people and I am sure they will help you:

Best of luck!
