Dear everybody
I've managed to get into the chat room today and I think I know why no-one goes in there  Sad Sad Sad- it needs re-decorating and could probably do with being feng shui'd.  Once this is done then we could have a big party in there to celebrate. Hey Princess,

The chatroom is actually pretty busy at times.  Maybe you just caught it on a slow day?  But by your mere mention of the word "party" watch out because there will be a line to get in there now Laughing Out Loud

I have to get in the same way, alison.  Wonder why that is?  :-/  Maybe once my car is paid off I can chuck this piece of crap out the window and get us some new idiot boxes.  (Those are normally TV's, but the computer has taken over that title Wink )

Hi Princess,

I'm afraid we have already had the decorators in, it's just that they didn't decorate the basement Laughing Out Loud

There are three ways of viewing the chat room.

HTML Chat looks really plain and boring  Snooze Embarrassed , mainly because it's designed to be simple for people who have problems accessing the Java Chat.

The Java chat looks more like this

and comes complete with users own colours, text fonts, graphics, sounds, images, emotions etc etc etc

If people have trouble accessing the chat room through the java login please let me know the type of problems as I can only get them sorted if I know about them.

The HTML (trashy undecorated brown one) should be a last resort Smiley

Actually, I should say that there can sometimes be a delay when entering the Java Chat of up to 30 seconds.

If you haven't seen the progress bar move in that time then there is probably something wrong Smiley

I also have never had any problems accesing the Chat Room.  Sometimes it does seem to take a while to load, as Nick said, so maybe give it another shot and wait it out a bit.

Nick, my loeading screen completely freezes at the half way mark, for about 1.5mins. Have found out, if I nip to the loo, or make a coffee, it then starts to load again, and in I get to the Java. The other way I do it, is to minimise as soon as the loading screen come's up, that way I can keep on looking through the boards, and the chat room shoots up as soon as I'm in.
Just a thought, that some of you having difficulties might try.  Wink

Thanks Val,

A delay of that long may mean that your PC is waiting for a Java script to run but for some reason the PC is delaying it.

I'll see what I can find out on that one Wink

Hi Alz,

Do you actually get to see the chat room like in the previous picture?

It should come up with a message from the server telling you that you are logged in etc ? ?

OK, as it's almost impossible to track what is happening on your PC from here I think the best thing would be for me to make myself available for Chat Room Debugging Sessions Laughing Out Loud

If any member who has problems with tha Java chat sees a user logged into the chat room as Spanners - That's me. Drop into the chat room and we'll go through different options to try and sort out any problems Wink
