City launch for sufferers of psoriasis
A CHARITY to support sufferers of skin disease psoriasis will be launched in the Capital next week.
Dermatology experts and politicians will gather at the City Chambers on Tuesday at 6pm for the launch of Psoriasis Scotland Arthritis Link Volunteers, or PSALV.
The event will be chaired by Edinburgh city councillor Brian Meek, with a panel of guest speakers including dermatologist Stewart Douglas and shadow health minister Shona Robison.
Scottish Parliament health committee MSPs Christine Grahame, David Davidson and Helen Eadie are also expected to attend.
Psoriasis is a disease in which scaly patches form on the skin. It is one of the most common skin diseases in Britain, affecting around two per cent of the population. The condition can lead to arthritis and tendon inflammation.
The launch of PSALV will also include a question-and-answer session and refreshments.
