It's new I guess. I looked through it and really didn't see a lot of advertising and the articles are broad but informative. Lot of good information.

I did see that as well, but there is no blatent advertising and the information is very good.  I know you are a stickler for that type of stuff Nick but they give good suggestions on fashion, relaxation, coping, etc. They also have a free publication that they send out which I signed up for.  So I can comment on that when I take a look at it.

Hey Phil

Don't worry, there's no problem regarding the content at all Thumbs up

The "Woah" was more out of surprise than any thing else, and the little dig about them using "beautiful people" models instead of actual psoriasis sufferers was just that, a little dig. Same as when the BBC used models on their pages.

I know that no company ever wants to portray a negative image, I just find it disappointing that they are not open about what psoriasis really looks like. They are all basically the same. Is it any wonder that many people think of psoriasis as being just a minor cosmetic inconvenience when even pharma sites don't show it like it really is but use perfectly skinned models instead.

Is the subliminal message one of
"Use Wyeth products, and you too could look like this" ?

I agree that they are trying to maybe portray it that way but I am convinced people, especially on this site, don't fall for that mumbo jumbo. Having a good source for information is always good and I haven't seen many sites where resources were organized so well to the extent it is here.  Cool

Well I would quite happily go on the record by saying that I think it's a great looking site too, with boat loads of information.
Thinking about it Phil, It was a bit narrow-minded of me to only pick up in the one negative. There are certainly plenty of positives to the site, as you have said Thumbs up

As informative as the site is, be reminded that...

This is a lead-generation web site created by Wyeth and Amgen.

If you give them any personally identifiable information, they will use it to market their products to you.  They also are partners with alot of other companies and they will have the right to share your information with them.

None of these companies put this info up because they want to.  They do it because they need to to get customers.  Keep that in mind.

The magazine reminds me alot of the National Psoriasis Foundation's magazine which leads me to believe that they may be trying to extend their reach by partnering with these major pharma companies.

Interesting link.
I noticed while cruising this site that they make a few statements with a solid level of conviction, like:
<snip>
"Psoriasis is not just a skin disease”it's a disease of your immune system that attacks your skin. "
<snip>
I think you're right.  There's a lot of useful information at psoriasisconnect.

But Gary tell me another site that has medical jouranls, articles, doctors, lawyers, laws listed in such a great manner and easily found. I have YET to see a site put all the great information in such an easily accessible way. They can market on me if that's the price I have to pay to find information that I find EXTREMELY usefull
