If we are thinking of spending a weekend away, I would definately bring the kids. If it's just a night then I will leave them with my mother in law

So has anyone any idea what month we are now talking about Also are talking about friday/sat or sat/sun If it's planned for any time in school holiday's, even half term, then as we have found out, the price more than doubles at these places, Pontins, Butlins etc. :-/

Ami, I agree with Alz.
Personally I would like to have a time away from home with the friends that I have made here. I don't think there's anything selfish about it, but Roni and I get precious little quality time together as it is thanks to work, kids etc.

Ian, I was meaning fri/sat nights or sat/sun nights, as I thought we were taking about a 2 night break at one of the holiday centre's, don't think they do one nighters If we did to a holiday centre, then most have baby/kid listening services, and day time kid's clubs, I can see what you mean though, a kidless short break works wonders for couples

OK. I've worked from the voyes in so fara dn we have the following situation: Furthest South = Nick, Roni, Paul, Rea and Ian Furthest North = Val and Bert Therefore we can cover a area from Liverpool across to Kingston Upon Hull and from (just about) Minehead to Medway in Kent. That's a lot of square miles with a lot of places we could consider

I'm just standing back and then seeing if I can make the dates, dont think distance is really a problem for me. Personally a Friday and Saturday night meet(if its going to be a 2 nighter) would be better. I won't be a wallflower if I turn up on my own will I? BF

OK this has thread has had some great replies, thanks everybody So now we need to decide on a few more things and I would suggest we look at them as 2 options: - 1. We have a 2 nighter staying over a a holiday camp type location (we may be able to organise a group discount or time it for a saver break)
- 2. We have a single night in a hotel or guest house.
From experience I would say that a single night isn't enough time to really be able to sit down and have a natter or boogie with everybody that you'd like to. So the idea of a 2 nighter does have its appeal. We may be able to find a location that would offer us a 2 night stay with all of the amenties and entertainment thrown in for the same price as many of the main hotel chains charge for a single night. We already have a few locations in mind (see previous links) and I have requested brochures for them to get a better idea of prices and dates suggestions. Plus we need to consider easy access for cars, trains and coaches etc. Rest assured we will try to organise the event to be as flexible and as entertaining as possible.
