I've just been running through my checklist of things I needed to do .....

  • Set up SkinCell
  • Set up chatroom
  • Survive Christmas
  • Complete new front pages
  • Survive New Year

Well, I have got ticks against all of those so it's time to start thinking about things like ......

Arranging a meeting for the UK SkinCell Clan

Yes folks,

It's time we organised ourselves for a grand get-together for any members who would be interested.

Presumably it would suit most members if the event was held in a location where they could sleep over (hotel, Bed and Breakfast, Hostel, Jail Roll Eyes ) also I would imagine that many would like to be able to eat and DRINK Sloshed so a bar would be essential too.
As for timescales, that's a tricky one. We would have to review our diaries and from there decide which dates were NOT practical. I would guess that in order to give people plenty of time to get organised that we would be looking at maybe early summer time ?

My initial thoughts were to firstly try to establish a location that would be the fairest and most central for all those looking to attend. Also we need to work out the maximum distance people would be able to travel.

So, If you would like to throw some ideas in the hat we can all bounce them around and democratically decide what would be the best and most central location for us all.

I'll keep this thread sticky so it stays in sight all the time.

Feel free to throw in any ideas you might like Wink

Hi I'm Val, we live in North Lincs, have our own transport and will also happy to travell 200 miles or so too Wink

Nick, somewhere near the motorway system would maybe be a good idea. Also if we were to have it during school holiday's, would that not put up the prices?
Are we talking about a week-end, i.e. Friday through Saturday, that would mean for those working, only having a day or so off.

Hi Iam Ami I live in South Yorkshire I'll have to use a Train or Coach. So need some where near a station or not too far away and also if venue is not too far away will be advantage. Also weekends are better. But Summertime or spring is great. How about Seaside Town.

I'm Ian...live in West London near Heathrow. I'd be willing to travel the same distance - 200 miles or so.

Come nearer the time, if anyone is living near me or on the way to the final destination - maybe a car share might be a good idea?

Weekend sometime is good for me.  Smiley

I live in South Wales, at present haven't got transport, but am still willing to travel 200 miles.  Ian suggested something, what about car sharing or groups in a certain area's radius hiring a minibus?  The coast sound good to me as well, also, only a suggestion, but wouldn't it be a better idea in the future to agree on something like, the first weekend in June, and stick with this.  This is what we do with my school reunion, and we find everybody knows when, and can organise their work, holidays etc around this period.

Hi Diana, How about the US members that can't get over here for a meet, try arranging one over there. Or at least those of you in similar areas, getting together? Then we could trade some piccies. Wink

I know that's going to be difficult for some residents of other Countries tho  Sad
