Just started methotrexate.

Hi all! I just found this forum tonight.  I am 22yrs old, have had   since i was 12, and just to let you know it really sucks having it when you are a teen in school and what not.  Recently I have started to notice really bad neck and hip pain off and on especially in morning, we think it might be Psor Arthritis.  Well that along w/ my big patches on legs, back, arms, scalp, lower region , and  belly button, i think i will give mthxate a shot (have tried most everything else).  I am taking six 2.5mg pills 1nce a week.  Hopefully it will work .  I have already taken the first dose about 4 days ago and no side effects yet.  I will definitly keep you guys updated on my status.  Just wanted to say hi and I look forward to any tips and/ or comments u think might be helpful on methotrexate.  Thanks for your time.

Yes it does sound you may have the beginnings of PA, and while on Mtx do make sure you go for regular monthly blood tests, we have a couple here who are on it as well.  They will offer some guidance on this, this is a powerful systemic drug and any side effects see your Derm.  Good luck and keep us posted.

I have for very long time but over 8 years it has slowly got worse.

I had be on MTX and it real did help clean up my . Are u taking folic acid with MTX as well.  I was on the same dose. Iam not taking it now as I had other probs.

Hi Mr Pbody
I found this wonderful site yesterday, and enjoying looking round it. Lots to see and comment on. Goodluck on the methotrexate, it really did help me, I did find that I took it on a day that I was not doing much ie Sunday, as it made me feel a it low but nothing I could put my finger on. 
My ps and psa cleared very quickly, and I was clear of it for 2yrs or more, but unfortunatly blood tests showed that my liver was enlarged
so I had to come of it immediatly, and a few months now down the line, and there is not many patches of clear skin, and I ache all over,
Am awaiting consultants say so to take something else.
Everybodys different though, just keep having the blood tests.
