Its said that a lot can be determined by what music we listen to.  So Ive set up this thread to see what lines out of songs influence or explain us or what we believe...just a favourite lyrics thing, yknow?  Words of wisdom, encouragement and humour all welcome!  There isnt any limit to the number you can post as good things are worth saying Smiley Heres my starter for 10:

"We march to drums of our own choosing, each of them a different time.  As you are free to live your own life, so I am free to live mine!" <The Widdershins Jig by Skyclad - words I live to>

And cos that ones in my profile, Ill be original:

"We'd better stop to moan, lament and cry
Straighten our backs, keep the head high,
Dont let the tears of shame stand in our eyes.

The only thing that their money cant buy
Is our dignity so dont be so shy
Fight!  Give them an eye for an eye!"
<Eye for an Eye by Hoax - the best rock song you never heard of>

Gaye Bikers On Acid, man Guzzi, your into some heavy music!
i`ll have a bash at this with a few....

See the lad on the Saturday terraces.
With his collar pulled up around his chin.
His side are two goals down and playing lousy
But he still believes his team are going to win
"Song for a family" Inspiral Carpets
That one always reminds me of going to watch my team Dundee United!

            Woman driving,man sleeping.
            Passing all the other cars.
Searching in the black, never turning to look back.
A little metal box under the stars...
                                          "Woman driving,man sleeping"Eels
This one just sticks out as the lyrics are so well done.

One of my favourites is the opening lyrics to a Crowded House song called "Whispers And Moans"
                      Dull,dull grey.
                      The colour of our times.
                      Cool,cool space.
That i still hope to find....

I work in a factory and am forever dreaming of the weekend when i get away into the mountains.....

My favorite song lyrics, ever :

Static X - Push it
Corrosive
Tainted by my sin
I'm spilling blood
And I can hardly contain it
Corrosive
Hallowing the hand
Stiffened
I eat away
Eat
Eat into the surface

Yeah, you push it
Yeah, you push it
Yeah, you push it

Explosive
More violent more violent
All consuming
Throbbing
Straight to the circle
Explosive
Move on reaction
I slow it down
I slow it
Down down down down...

Yeah, you push it
Yeah, you push it
Yeah, you push it

I see it, I need it
I see it, I need it

My mind is corrosive
I trip on corrosive
I freak
See through me
My eyes are explosive
I feed on it
Black out
Crucify me

Yeah, you push it

Hi there How can I resist to spam you all with the greatest love song ever written  Wink

Reflections in a Flat ~ Half man half biscuit

Oh darling sugar honey
when it was nice and sunny
And when I had some money
we would go & see
Echo & the Bunny  men

Since I was 8 Iv loved you
through the garden gates Iv shoved you
Then theres the time I slashed you
and you had to go to hospital

Now you are gone forever
shot by your uncle trevor
my story seems so tragic
Ali Bongo is good at contortionism
Hes much better than David Nixon ever was

Slowly I pick my life up
Now I go and pick the wife up
She works in marks n Spencers- la la la lech Walesa's
when cupid through her last dart
you girl were still in my heart
I love you more than ever
Even tho I married Trevor.........

-------------------------------------------------

Dont mind a bit of Static X myself Tsachi, couldnt stop playing that Black n White track all last summer
o yes, & I have a brill remix from NIN & Static X ~ closer, I love it !

Celery - you are twisted if you think thats a love story Smiley These are sposed to be inspiring, not songs to commit suicide to LOL

"What do we need to make this world come alive?
What does it take to make us sing?
While we're waiting for the next ones to arrive
One million points of light, one billion dollar
Vision thing!"

My Fav is
The sirens are screaming and the fires are howling
Way down in the valley tonite
There's a man shadows with a gun in his eye
And blade so shining oh so bright
Theres evil in the air and thers thunder in the sky
and killer on the bloodshot streets
and down in the tunnel where the deadly are rising
oh I swear I saw a young boy down in the gutter
He was starting to foam in the heat.

Oh Baby you're the only thing in this whole world thats pure and good and right.
And wherever u are and wherever u go
There always gonna be some light
But I gotta get out I gotta break out now
Befor the final crack of dawn
So we gotta make most the most of our one night together when its over u know
We'll both be so alone

LIKE BAT OUT OF HELL
I'll be gone when the morning comes
Bat out of Hell Meat loaf

Hi there aww Guzz, 'twisted' is a bit harsh  Wink  Laughing Out Loud

Ok, another fave, its just not the same without the sax belting out in the background tho....

Flying Teapot by Gong

If you feel belief hi Pete
I got a story to tell you
Of a band of little green men
From a far away planet
If you want to know about love
Then ask the wee geezer
He can teach you telepathy
He can read your mind backwards
If you try to do the cat in
You can only be a loser
Paranoia never touch him
He's got ways of laughter
Baby don't you bring yourself down
Got to catch you up later
If you want to know about love
You can ask the wee geezer
He can teach you telepathy
He can read your mind backwards
If you try to do the cat in
You can only be a loser
Paranoia never touch him
He's got ways of laughter
Baby don't you bring yourself down
I'll catch you up later
Give him a bit of your love you get it back later...
Give him a bit of your love you get it back
later (repeat)

...Hear me now from the Invisible Opera Company of Tibet...

Have a cup of tea, have another one, have a cup of tea
Have a cup of tea, have another one, have a cup of tea
Have a cup of tea, have another one, have a cup of tea...

High in the sky, what do you see ?
Come down to Earth, a cup of tea
Flying saucer, flying teacup
From outer space, Flying Teapot (repeat)

Hi there They are indeed Andy  Grin

Ok, heres another one, now this is heart wrenchin  Cry

Black

Hey...oooh...
Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay
Her lace spread out before me, as her body once did
All five horizons revolved around her soul
As the earth to the sun
Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn
Ooh, and all I taught her was everything
Ooh, I know she gave me all that she wore
And now my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds
Of what was everything?
Oh, the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...

I take a walk outside
I'm surrounded by some kids at play
I can feel their laughter, so why do I sear
Oh, and twisted thoughts that spin round my head
I'm spinning, oh, I'm spinning
How quick the sun can, drop away
And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass
Of what was everything?
All the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...
All the love gone bad turned my world to black
Tattooed all I see, all that I am, all I'll ever be...yeah...

Uh huh...uh huh...ooh...
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky, but why
Why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine

Nice topic Guzzi!

Mine has to be, without doubt, from Blurry by Puddle of Mudd and the opening lyrics...

"Everything's so blurry
And everyone's so fake
And everybody's empty
And everything is so messed up"

Sums it up really!  Laughing Out Loud  Smiley
