Did anyone see Britain's Got Talent on Saturday? If so, what did you think of it?

I was totally blown away by the Susan Boyle - the lady who sang "I dreamed a dream" from Les Miserables. It has always been one of my favourite songs from the theatre, but her voice was totally amazing. I have watched her song several times over already!   Smiley

Hi Wooley, I agree, she certainly gave everyone a big shock, esp the judges... she is now a big favourite to win the whole show....fantastic voice        annmarie

I just saw her on YouTube... great voice, although it kinda p***ed me off that they all jumped to conclusions just because of her appearance.  She even got air time here, as the announcer on the CBC morning radio show talked about it!

Hi all:

This lady was on our news cast tonight. Amazing, I'm going to check YouTube right now, I'd love to hear more. From the bit I saw, this voice soars, and beats many famous voices into a cocked hat!

Too bad people reacted the way they did initially -- the quote "don't judge a book by its cover" comes to mind.

Just popped over to You Tube and listened to the full song. WOW.......what a glorious voice. Y'know, Itchy, she reminds me very much of our Canadian gal, Rita McNeil....another one judged by her appearance.......and just look at her now! Grin Different style, but a voice and lyrics to break your heart. Glad Canada finally did recognize her in the summer olympics in the 80's......

I hadn't even looked at this thread until now because I almost never watch these talent-type shows.  This morning, DH asked me if the name Susan Boyle meant anything to me and when I told him it didn't, he played the You Tube video for me.  I was utterly slack-jawed!  What a voice!  Her performance brought tears to my eyes.

Yeah, that and her age.  Just because she's 47 and has never sung professionally before doesn't mean squat.  Everyone has to start somewhere.

Well, I don't either, but the name "Susan Boyle" kept popping up all over the place, so I had to watch a Youtube clip.

Wow. Just wow.

And dare I say it, it brought a tear to my eye too.

The question is, does anyone remember Austin the Saw player from last year?
