I might have a look at that, I like scrabble.  But my first love is Chess, I have been playing now for 40 years.  Last 20 years in Wales, play for Aberdare CC, East Glam County and am a representive of the Welsh Postal Chess, I have also played at International Level for Welsh Postal.  Our league starts in Mid Sept for Aberdare CC.

Laughing Out Loud I warn you guys... I'm an advanced player (or so I've been told)

http://www.playsite.com

On playsite, it's Scrabble exactly - same board, same scoring system, etc. And they use the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary as an authority over word challenges.

Hey Monika, you can gamble on that site!

Also, it seems to have a lot of popup ads...

I'll check it out when I am on my home computer... they probably won't like me doing that on a company computer, even if it is after hours.

You can't collect the money if you live in certain states though (like Florida).

Hi there I used to visit playsite to play scrabble, but found too many people cheated with dictionaries, so gave it up. Sad Some even became abusive at points when I asked them to not use their dictionaries or to just declare the match void so I could play someone else who didnt play only to win. Got swore at and all.   Shocked:'( Not my idea of fun I'm afraid..Sad

Yeah, Playsite gets nasty sometimes... I had the opposite problem.  I'm a really good Scrabble player - my grandmother taught me, she was good enough to compete!  So I've memorized Scrabble word lists and stuff.  People would accuse me of using the dictionary when I played if I used a word they didn't recognize (especially those little 2 letter ones, like aa and such).  I don't know what they mean, I just memorized the darn lists! Laughing Out Loud  I'd get sworn at a lot, too.  Oh, well.  Not my problem if they couldn't keep up.  Cheesy

 Hi there

Well I dont think you should use the dictionary. Ive played about 1000 games since I started over a year at Yahoo, I have lost 10 more than I have won  Roll Eyes but you pick up the words as you go along, its really helped my spelling  Smiley

I play for fun, not for glory  Wink

...and yes, you do meet some a$$holes who dont like being beaten & can get quite offensive, along with the usual pervs & I'v even been insulted quite a few times about my lack of religion  Roll Eyes

I don't mean for players to use the dictionary - the game itself usually has an internal dictionary so that people don't use illegal words.

I was wondering if our chatroom's "scrabble" game uses the OSPD too?  Guess I'll have to test it to find out. Laughing Out Loud
