Hi all,

This is a bit unusual so please bear with me.

I was recently contacted in a very professional manner by the webmaster for a site that provides a product. Nothing new in that, it happens quite a bit. But this time the product not only caught my eye but seemed to potentially offer a glimmer of hope for all those members who suffer from thinning of the skin and contact allergies.

In a recent thread I posted about a product I saw a few years back that acted like spray on skin, it was a sort of plastic that formed a film barrier when sprayed on and it struck me that maybe that sort of thing might help sufferers.

As it turns out there is a product that acts in a similar way that might give some relief and help to protect the skin of some of the members.

Have a look at the following site

http://www.glovesinabottle.com/index.html

As I say, I have been speaking with the webmaster, Trish, and I am hoping that we might be able to get some samples shipped over to the UK for ditribution. Our US members should hopefully be able to arrange for samples to come to them direct if they would like any.

I can't pretend to make any promises about this product as I have not seen it for myself but I really do hope that we might be able to organise something for our SC friends who suffer thinning and allergies, even if it's temporary or limited relief. Lately we have all read many heart felt threads by thise suffering in this way.
If you are interested at all I would be pleased to hear from you and we'll do all we can to help.

Here's a little info I found on the web

Gloves in a Bottle
01/14/2003

Reported by: Sandra Parker

The winter weather can leave your hands pretty dry, so lots of people put on lotions to keep their skin moist.

Gloves in a Bottle promises to put a protective barrier on your hands to help keep in the moisture.

Nail technician Kitty Cubilla agreed to test the claim that it protects your skin like an invisible pair of gloves.

"I want to be able to hold my clients hands firmly and things of that nature," she said.

So, on went the lotion and Cubilla worked it into her hands.

"It actually feels very smooth and actually quite moisturized," Cubilla noticed right away.

Then came the big test--how her hands feel after washing.

Gloves in a Bottle claims not to wash off and Cubilla found that's true.

"It still feels like there's a little bit of the product on."

"I'd say there's a possibility that it would really help a lot of people out there in the field that wash their hands regularly. Yes, I do think it works."

Gloves in a Bottle does say you may need to reapply the product every four hours.

Sounds promising Nick, I wonder if the webmaster does discounts?  I have found this also on an independent NZ site. Cool

Wow!! That does sound like a very good possible help Nick. Cheesy

I tried that spray on skin stuff years ago and it worked well, but for some reason haven't been able to find any lately.  Sad

I would be very interested in trying some myself and I know my dad would as his skin tares open and bleeds.
