Stelara, this just in from NPF

Just received from NPS

National Psoriasis Foundation
ANNOUNCEMENT | DECEMBER 2013

Stelara Treatment Alert

You may have received a letter or heard about Express Scripts' decision to exclude Stelara from coverage in 2014. Express Scripts administers medication benefits for millions of individuals through agreements with health insurance companies. The National Psoriasis Foundation recently worked with Express Scripts to understand how this new policy affects individuals with psoriatic diseases currently using Stelara.

Here's what you need to know:

Current Stelara users: If you are covered by Express Scripts, your treatment will continue to be available at a discounted price in 2014. You will not be responsible for 100 percent of the cost of Stelara. (Note: Express Scripts may have incorrectly sent you a letter indicating Stelara will no longer be covered. This letter was sent in error and a corrected letter will be sent to all Stelara users. The NPF recently received a letter from Express Scripts clarifying this issue.)

Future Stelara users: If you are covered by Express Scripts and your physician determines you should be treated with Stelara, you will be able to obtain Stelara at a discounted price provided you try and fail either Enbrel or Humira first. You do not need to try and fail both treatments.
