Hi Everyone-
I'm a female, 54 years old and have been dealing with severe DSAP on my legs and arms. Doc's say it's in my DNA and I got it from the European side of the family..well, who doesn't have European blood? Anyway, I was dealing with it by laser and had pretty good luck till an alarming flare up two weeks ago. So in my search for the recommended "V BEAM" laser, I finally find one in Southern Florida however, that doc won't use it on us DSAP'ers....only cryo. And the doc up here in Maine believes in the laser but doesn't have the right one, but won't do cryo. OH VEY. They say they're afraid of SCARING......%*_at_(&_at_^!&(  HELLO I AM ALREADY SCARED UP! I never heard of such crap but that's what happens when there's a lot of lawyers around looking to make a buck. SO-the reason I came to this board is to find other DSAP'ers who have had luck with treatments, found good doctors willing to do such treatments...etc.

Also...I found out that DSAP does/or is the cause of, COLLEGEN breakdown, or something like that. Well, don't we have collegen in our joints? Can that be the reason I've had such TERRIBLE back pain the last 10 years that they think was from my DDD? Does anyone else have trouble with their joints and not being able to move well although they have no arthritis?

Thanks for you time......I have so many questions and feel totally not in control.

Hugs Welcome. I'm not familiar with DSAP but I'm sure someone on here is. You are not alone with the joint trouble. That's actually a pretty common problem on here, especially with PPP sufferers (I think). I have problems myself, but from the twisting of my fingers I think I've just got run-of-the mill arthritis.

The best way that I have personally found to feeling more "in control" is to research like mad and *print out* what you find. Doctors are less likely to argue with a sheet of paper.

Oh, and please allow me to honor you with the traditional Skincell Q-bert Award for Self-bleeping. This goes out to kindhearted individuals who spare the ed bot. (I get this award a lot myself - hence my title.)

Gday,  I'm a 'bloke' living in tropical Australia (Darwin).  Sorry if this is not the right area to seek advice but I can't seem to work out where else to do it.  I have DSAP ( and it's supposed to be mainly a female thing...how does that make me feel!)  Anyway I am 55 and have spent the last 23 years of my life in a Darwin (tropical ...hot all year round).  For the last 5 or so years I have prominent red spots mainly on forearms and below the knees.  Has become embarrasing as I wear short sleeves most of the time and short pants when not at work.  Does anyone have any tips on how to at least lessen the redness? ....very frustrating.

Sorry to take so long to reply, but we migrated to Florida then I had my high school friends come down and stay with me for FANTASY FEST 2009 in Key West. It was a blast. Of course, my costume had to incorporate the covering of my legs and arms, but it worked out just fine, and my outfit was a huge HIT! I will certainly be all over the internet. I didn't step foot on Duval St. one second when all these camera flashes started going off-I wasn't prepared for that-getting your picture taken constanly for hours....all night long. But you can now say YOU KNEW ME WHEN! LOL

I will post a photo when my friend sends me the files tonight.

My skin has been itching me raw now for over two weeks and driving me crazy. I had 20+ DSAP spots frozen, and the back of my legs lazered as a test to see if the laser down here in the Keys would do anything. It wasn't a RUBY laser, so any good results will be a miracle.

I'm concerned that the itching ALL OVER is my DSAP and about new spots appearing on my back, and neck, although they haven't yet. Keep your fingers crossed that it's just some kind of alergy to something I can avoid if I ever find out what it is.
Going to now read everything I can on DSAP!
