Hi all, glad to have found this group.

I am still waiting for the confirmation from biopsy to be sure, but me and my doc are pretty sure I have lichen planus - on my hands, legs, abdomen, neck and in my mouth. It started, I think, about 6 weeks ago. About the same time I had a swollen gland in my neck, just temporarily - so maybe a virus kicked it off? Either that,  or I thought perhaps all the tomato plants I was handling in the garden. Perhaps neither of those, maybe coincidence, and its a systemic problem.
Anyway, the doc had prescribed prednisone straight off, but I won't take it - I feel it will only mask the problem and from what I have read won't cure it anyway.

So I am looking into alternative ways of managing and ameliorating the condition and hopefully eventually get my whole system working properly again. I am finding lavender oil quite helpful at reducing the itching on my skin. I also use aloe vera gel on my skin. I have just got some propolis to try as drops and as a mouth-wash (I can't eat anything hot or spicy), and I am going to up my intake of vitamin C, E, Zinc and B12.

I am really keen to find out what other alternative remdies people have found useful and hopefully to connect with some other lichen planus people (I couldn't search until I got accepted as a subscriber, so I don't know whose here yet...).

Look forward to hearing from you all.

Hey Belinda!
Welcome to Skincell Hi there

We're glad to have you here Smiley

I'm fairly sure there are some other members with LP. It certainly rings a bell somewhere in my head. Not sure how active the members are though.  Undecided

Hope you find something to help,
