I know, I know - it's been far too long since I last posted here. Just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you all, and now that life is getting back to a more normal pace I hope I can get back to spending a lot more time here again.

To be honest, between work, studying for a second degree, giving the house a makeover, and planning a wedding for next year, there hasn't been a lot of time for anything else recently.

For starters, I'm going to have a gander around the site, and see what's been happening during my absence.  Cheesy

Hugs!

Hi Wooley Smiley

Tis good to be back! Wedding plans are getting there - we got engaged on March 20th, and have set the date for June 18th 2010. We're going to have quite a small wedding with around 40 close friends and family  in a country house hotel not far from where we live. Most guests will be staying the night before and the night of at the venue so it should be a lot of fun. So far we've got the venue arranged, given notice, and booked photographer, videographer, harpist, dj, caricaturist and our honeymoon (after we persuaded my parents not to stay at the same place!! Roll Eyes). Paul picked the cake (he's picked one that will feed 260 people! laugh)Seriously it's a lovely cake and we're not going to have all the tiers in different flavours (but chocolate is definitely going to be one of them!!) and everyone will get a decent sized chunk to take away with them. I've picked my dress, and heading out with the girls to get their dresses soon. A dear friend in Australia has designed invites for us - we just have to get the supplies in now and try to make them (will be fun!!) The men are going to arrange their suits in December, and the only big headache left is sorting out the flowers (have had three quotes so far and for exactly the same items the quotes vary by around £400.)

I started dieting again around Jan 2008 (before the wedding was even on the horizon) and as of last night am only 0.5lb from goal so am at a weight I'm happy with for the first time that I can remember (it's probably the being busy that's helped!)

How are you and your family?  Hugs

Bama!!! Smiley

To be honest it's more like organised chaos - really just booked the main things and paid deposits so far. We'd have been happy taking off and just having a quiet ceremony with the two of us and witnesses, but when it came to the crunch we really felt we should have those closest to us with us on the day. I could do without the planning though - didn't realise how much time it was going to take!

Nice to see you again too itchychick! For our honeymoon we're heading off to Cyprus the day after the wedding. We've been on some lovely long haul holidays over the past couple of years, but we both love Cyprus. I've been there quite a few times, introduced my parents to the island and they now go there just about every year. We tend to stay at the same hotel each time on the outskirts of Limassol. We all travelled there together in April 2008 to celebrate my 40th, my mum's 70th and my fiancé's (love that word!) 50th birthdays which were all taking place during the same year. We racked our brains for ages, and went through oodles of brochures, but at the end of the day, Cyprus was where we wanted to go most - short haul flight, wonderful climate in June, and very friendly (especially at the hotel we're going to). Only problem was that my Dad was thinking of taking Mum out there straight after the wedding, but they decided it would be a little hot for them in June and are going at the end of this year instead. I love my parents dearly, and it's fun to go on holiday with them, but we'd like our honeymoon just to be the two of us! What will be wonderful is that they'll be spending Christmas with us this year; the first time in 10 years that I'll have been with my Mum and Dad on Christmas Day. It's going to be sooooo special!  Hi there Dhia,

Great to see you here, I too have only recently come back as well.

Wow! Aren't you organised! Praise No way would I have had that lot sorted out this early, mind you we only got a months notice for our wedding date. Laughing Out Loud We also just had those that meant the most to us at our wedding and have never regretted it once and I bet you won't either.

Hope you find a great deal for the flowers.

Hugs
