I have got chronic scalp inflammation which according to dermatologists is seborrheic dermatitis.  Antifungals and steroids don't do much to improve it.  (From the fairly brief period that I used it, I think Dermovate probably made a significant difference but do not see this as an option long term.)

Last hope is Protopic - in preference to Elidel which I believe is the weaker of the two - but being an ointment this would be of limited use as not really suitable for scalp.  So, does anyone know:

1. Is tacrolimus available in liquid form?  From searching the internet I have found occasional references to it in a clinical/research context so I think it probably has been produced but doesn't exist as a commercial product.

2. Is it possible to make a lotion from an ointment i.e. by mixing it with water and an emulsifier, or similar.  Don't know enough about the chemistry involved but would imagine that it ought to be able to possible to do something like this.
