Hello everyone, I've pretty much had eczema since I could remember. I still have it now and it's really bothersome to the point where I just given up on trying to find a cure and just let it be. I still have all these Grey discolored scars all over my thighs and legs from the aftermath of eczema. It's been 3 years and it's all still visible. I've been using this steroid cream call "Elocon" prescribed by my doctor for years now. . I've stopped using this because of the long term side effects which can thin the skin and discolor it. I should of been more aware of this and taken better care of myself the past few years.. I was perfectly fine without eczema until I started smoking cigarettes, weed, drinking and partying with my other college friends on a daily basis.. I didn't know that my skin would get this bad so I pretty much ignored it and it only got worse. Now that I finally came to my sense and quit cigarettes, and weed altogether... My eczema has subsided tremendously. I still drink on a weekly basis but I'm trying to slowly get away from that because every time I do so I get flare ups like no other (I've tested this). I know what types of foods I'm allergic to and that can give me flare ups (some sea food, fried foods, sugar coated foods, and foods that has a lot of sodium)
I'm sorry you guys probably don't wanna here about my whole life story so I'll just stop here. Thanks for accepting me to be in your forum administrators.

Welcome to Skincell!

And congratulations on giving up smoking various substances. That is *hard* to do, and you did it. I'm impressed! A lot of our members have given up on steroids; I hope you find some alternatives. Good luck! Grin Hi there

Congratulations on the whole smoking thing. As Bamz said, it's hard to give up.

Hope you have luck with the Elocon,
