February 2009, I noticed a dime sized skin anomaly on my lower leg. By April it was the size of a quarter, red and rough. It did not itch. I researched, on the internet, and self diagnosed it as a granuloma annular. I treated it, as I would any other inflammation, with ice. Then I read somewhere that sunburn had helped somebody with this problem, so I got plenty of sun. Also, knowing that vitamin E is great for skin, I applied it topically. I used a luffa sponge to remove the dried skin. Well, it worked. The thing is totally gone and barely noticeable is a slight light discoloration. I just wanted to share this with you.

Wonder if that vitamin E cream would be good for HS.  Is it ok to put it on if there is broken skin?

I just opened up a capsule of vitamin E. Since vitamin E can be taken internally, I'm sure you can put it on broken skin.
