I'm new here (raindrop psoriasis)

Hello...I'm new here, and I was diagnosis with raindrop (guttate) psoriasis about 10 months ago.  Because I don't have the money for better treatments  (and I'm not sold on the "all natural" ones), the only thing I've been doing for it has been applying Fluocinonide (topical cream) nightly.  It seems to help (eventually) clear the patches, but it takes quite a while for these things to fade, and most haven't faded that much. 

My Dermatologist recommended Enbrel, but I have some reservations, due to the fact that my immune system will be compromised.  So....IF there are any Enbrel users on this forum and would want to give input, that would be much appreciated.  (I can get Enbrel, because I've applied for financial help and have been approved).  Thanks, everyone....

Welcome, Bob! Seems like some people on here would have to have used Enbrel. Hm...

I just ran a quick search on Enbrel, and there are so many threads that I hesitate to link just one! (I'm going to give really clear directions here... I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, but I don't know how familiar you are with computers. And for some reason the little search box never works for me.)

Scroll up to the top of the page. Just over where the thread is (the part where people talk) there is a blue bar that says "home" "help" "search" and a bunch of other things. You want "search."

Type "Enbrel" in the "search for" box. You can use the quotation marks if you want, or not, it'll work either way.

Now you have a choice. You can search in all the boards by just hitting "search." That'll search all the boards. You'll get a few more results that way, but it'll take longer. Most of the results I found were in "Skin Complaints and Skin Disorders." To search just that board, just click "choose a board to search in, or search all."

Oh my, they're all checked. Click the "check all" box to uncheck them. Then click "Skin Complaints and Skin Disorders" under "General Category."

And there you go, running an advanced search like a pro.

I have had raindrop (guttate) psoriasis for 40 years...have had most all meds and treatments, most recently Raptiva, although none of the injectables indicate that they are for anything other than plaque type psoriasis.  I had good success; however, Raptiva was recently taken off the market.
My current dermatologist prefers to used "tried and true" methods, like MTX, as he thinks the injectibles have not been around long enough (hence, Raptiva being pulled from the US market). When I contacted Enbrel, they could not tell me if any studies had been done on people with raindrop Psoriasis at that time.  Perhaps now it is different.
