Has anyone had both of these conditions. I was told I had Seborrheic dermatitis about 3 years ago. I tried a lot of medications on it but nothing helped but Triamcinolone 0.1%. Recently it started getting worse & I did what I should have done a long time ago..Go back to a dermatologist. There I was told I had both. She gave me Tetracycline & Metronidazole lotion 0.75% 3 days ago.. Tonite after applying the lotion my face burned & was REAL red. I washed it off.
If anyone has had both what did U do? I can't take Tetracycline forever. Cry
I am so tired of the itching & burning. I have Seborrheic dermatitis on other parts of my body (arms & legs) also.
Please how do U handle this?

I have seen 2 dermatologists about my seborrheic dermatitis, and I have had the best results with an Rx shampoo called "Loprox" and for the dermititis around my hairline, I wash my face with a zinc bar soap called "ZNP Bar".  It can be used as a shampoo instead of Loprox and is supposed to work great for poeple with acne, too.  It can be ordered OTC at local drug stores or online (around $8).  I use "Vesicare" face lotion as a moisturizer.  It is OTC and under $10.  Ketoconozol  cream used to work OK on my hairline rashes, but now it seems to burn more especially behind my ears.

My second problem is that since March I have a rash on the skin around my eyes.  What has calmed the flare-ups is Rx "FML opthalmic ointment" (steriod), and after a couple days I rub any dry areas (especially behind my ears) with "Aquaphor" ointment from Eucerin.  It is used for chafed skin, and in Target I found it where the diaper rash products were.  My dermatolosist said that the next step is allergy testing, since I can't seem to keep the eye-skin calm for more than 2 days.  Any ideas out there?  I even change pillow cases every night!

For the red rash around my eyes I have tried:
Xotol ointment and Eletone cream--made my skin rawer and redder
