Hi all, my name is steve i'm from essex (uk), have just been told i have pompholyx, finally, i'd been to a gp who told me i had psoriasis and even the dermo at the hospital said the same thing, i never agreed with them at all. i have had this condition for about 6 years on and off, more on nowdays. i'd always told them about tiny blisters and the cracking skin but no joy! i recently moved doctors and my new surgery has a dermatologist on site. Yesterday he took a 30 second look at my hands with blisters and everything that comes with it and said classic pompholyx, Joy. so as we all do nowdays googled it read it looked at pics of it and if it ain't it its damn close. i have been given two creams for now, a nice big tub of epiderm and a tube of clobetasol, 17 propionato. lets hope this works well cos i have hardly any let up now once my hands heal they start to blister again and sometimes the itching is so bad i could quite easily cut off a finger or two, well thats what i tell my wife.

thanks for reading.

Oooh, yes, that's a familiar feeling. I call it the "bite off the pinky syndrome."

I'm the apple cider vinegar person (or is that cyder for y'all?) and it's the only thing that worked for me. Well, that and ice. Cold anything will help ease the itch and hopefully let you keep all your digits. Scratching, as I'm sure you've noticed, just makes it worse.

Welcome to Skincell. Hi there You're not alone!!

Hi Steve!
Welcome to Skincell Hi there

Apple Cider vinegar does help. I used it myself (on Bama's recommendation about 3 years ago...)

You may struggle to find it in some supermarkets, but I got Aspall's (I think) from Tesco's.

I still use it on my feet when they get itchy, and it kills it enough to get a good nights itch-free sleep.

I hope you find your trigger Smiley
