Skin Condition:
Vitiligo

« on: Thursday July 02, 2009, 08:31:25 AM »

Hi All,

I've had Vitiligo for 20 years now and the patches now cover about 70-75% of my body.  I live on a Mediterranean island where the temperature averages around 35-40C in the summer, so you can imagine the problems I have with the sun.  Obviously I use sun block factor 50+ and apply it regularly but it does become a nuisance and very painful when you miss an application.  I have heard about a new 'permanent' sunblock, applied clinically and lasts about a month to a month and a half.  Does anybody out there have any information about this?

Regards

Elton

Hiya, ebarry, and welcome to SkinCell!

I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your question.  I'd guess such a product would be expensive to use if it has to be reapplied every 4-6 weeks and can only be done by a professions.  Sad  Perhaps another of our members has some info for you.
