Hi everyone,
It's been forever since I've been on but hope all are doing well.

After being well for awhile, I suffered a huge eczema flare-up beginning summer of last year. Went to the Dr and was given the usual, and even Prednisone at one point, which of course didn't work. Didn't mention anything about possible infection either. Using steroids on staph infected eczema will make the infection worse.
Moving forward, nothing worked, and I mean not any special diet, supplement, no cream or lotion, or steroid, etc, worked, believe me I've tried them all. Finally found a great dermatologist and told me I had a staph infection & also did a culture which confirmed this. Was put on antiobiotics which I was on for a couple months and still didn't get better. She presumed that the staph was probably getting resistant to the antibiotics, and switched them again and instructed me to put 1/2 cup of bleach into the bath daily. This was a huge miracle for me and was given Topicort for the inflammation and used pure mineral oil to moisturize. I am almost completely clear after almost a year of suffering. During my treatment, there have been many new studies in the news about bleach baths for eczema and that they are recently finding that people with eczema have too much staph bacteria on the skin due to our skin not working "normally''.
You can google "bleach baths and eczema" and will find so much new and interesting information about this discovery. I've even used this on my son who suffers from eczema as well and he has had no major flare-ups like he used to.
