I pose a lot, don't I? Just so everyone knows about the first picture... I wasn't hoping to fly away... I was trying to cut back on the backlighting. I suppose I could have been more subtle... but what's the fun in that? Eek! Yes, can't forget the mushy peas. They're like... well, mashed English peas. Woo and I had FUN! We hopped on board one of those lovely English double-decker buses and rode around Oxford, admiring old buildings and gargoyles. The weather was beautiful despite the forecast. The only problem was we both forgot our cameras... So we crammed into a passport photo booth. It was sad to inform us that the resulting picture was not suitable for use in an official British passport. I think I speak for both of us when I say we liked it anyway.

one more... on the Nene Valley Railway and Dan and I were discussing the merits of Walschaerts valve gear and how you select forward and reverse. We asked the driver and rather than try to explain he invited Dan and Bama onto the footplate to show them. y'all know that Bama likes steam engines!!

And now that I'm back in the US, I'll have to spend some time tomorrow uploading some photos from the Skegness leg. Bama and Skegness donkeys, Bama and the Norf Sea, and Bama Evans.

this one's on the Nene Valley Railway once again and Dan and Bama are trying out their first Bedfordshire Clangers (yes I know the Railway is actually in Cambridgeshire but the Clangers were bought in Sandy, which is in Bedfordshire!) and also enjoying their first 6X and Fuller's (funny how we chose a compartment with a buffet car next door )

...and then off to visit The Swiss Garden where there was another <Squeeeeeeee> moment when we found a Fairy Ring on the grass - of course we were very careful not to step inside it Note the Peacocks on the balcony railing of the Swiss Cottage behind keeping a watchful eye

The piccies are wonderful!!! I'll post mine when I get home... probably tomorrow, because we're flying home today. I think it's kinda funny that half the pictures are of me eating something. I can't deny it - I do love to eat!

Ahhhhhhhhh... I'm home!
This was lovely. We've GOT to do it again sometime. The saddest part of my trip was everyone asking what the other people were like... because we haven't all met each other.

The biggie is next year, TF. Start saving!! I'll have to get creative on my pics. Dan doesn't want to upload any from the camera until he's sure the computer is virus-free. This may take a while... In the meantime, I'll probably get creative. Don't panic.
