My story

It started a few years ago when I went to Spain and sweated so much that the sweat cut into the skin of my thighs. I got a heat rash which then got infected with fungus which I scratched. That spread it over half my body. I had pills when I got home that dealt with the vast majority of it permenantly, but a year later, it came back on my inner thighs. My pills took it away again but it was back in three months, and each time I took the pills it came back quicker. I can't take the pills each day or my liver will be affected.

Does anybody have ideas to stop me scratching my skin off?

Yowsa, that sounds terrable! Have you been to an actual dermatologist? They are generally much better at diagnosing skin disorders than GPs.

In the meantime, keep your legs as cool as possible. Cold fights itch better than scratching does, and there's less risk of infection.

Oh, and welcome to Skincell! Hi there

Welcome to skincell.  What is the name of the pills you take?  What is the rash from?  Have you tried Benadryl (Diphenhydramine)?  It is very effective to stop the itch.  It comes in pills or topical cream.  I have other ideas but I need to know the answer to my questions first.  BJ

The pills are Sporonox. If I use cream I allways wash it off.

Do you know the type of fungus they were treating you for?  If it is Blastomycosis, Nonmeningeal Histoplasmosis or Aspergillosis, you need to take the pills for 3 months.  Keep the area as dry as you can.  Good old cornstarch works great.
