Hi all, I'm new here and I'm not sure I'm putting this is the correct place, but here goes.

I'd like to share with everyone my success with treating my Grover's disease.  In my case, it showed up about 15 years ago and occurred just during the winter like others.  It was mild at first and slowly getting worse each successive year.  After I checked my diet and work/personal life style, the only thing I could come up with was the sun which helps us generate vitamin D3.  I checked it out and a lack of D3 can cause rickets and something called a rachitic rosary which looked like Grover’s.

I started with 4000IU daily pills to jump start my system and I was amazed to see my condition disappear completely within 2 weeks!  I thought I got it, unfortunately, vitamin D3 effectiveness seemed to lessen each successive winter up until the past winter. This time it finally occurred to me that the other big difference between summer and winter is the amount I drank water. Even though I worked out both seasons, I definitely sweat less in the winter time and consequently drink less.

I hardly drink water at all, I calculated about 30oz total per day and I realized my urine was always bright yellow so I figured maybe my kidney is leaking toxins because I'm not giving it enough water to flush it out.  So I tripled my water intake and after about 6 weeks it's nearly all gone.  Next year if it comes back, I plan to try to combine the D3 regime with the water.  Also, I'm taking watermellon seed tea, it's suppose to be a Kidney cleanser.

Good Luck, I hope this helps someone.

Hi TimTom,

I'm interested in your views that the sun can actually help Grovers disease.  I developed Grovers at the beginning of this year and have seen several specialists who all tell me to keep out of the sun.  At the same time, they don't seem to know much about this auto-immune problem.  I will be testing your theory this summer when I have to spend some time in a very hot/sunny country.  I'll let you know if it works.

Meanwhile, I have found a flower-based toxin-free cream that puts an end to any itching.

Thank you.

I am taking Multi Vites by Vita Fusion.  I bought them at Target and I take two a day.  They have cleared up by Grover's rash.  Anyone else use these?
