Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone can help me. I orginally hurt my wrist in november and found out a few weeks ago i actually fractured the capitate bone in my wrist. Been told its too late to put into a cast and i may require surgery to fix it as its not fixed itself. Does anyone know the time scale that an injury can be put into a cast? Does anyone also have an information or experience of havin an operation to fix a fractured wrist? How long does it take to get back to normal?

Thank you in advance for any information.

Sharon x

Sharon, probably the best place to start asking questions is your doctor.  You may also find some info on Medline or some place like that.

Hi, Sharon. I'm sorry to hear about your wrist. Here's a link, I hope it helps. Good luck with it, hun. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/broken-wrist/DS00971

PS: Ultimately, a Dr would know best... But if you were told something and you're worried, maybe get a second opinion.

Went to see the consultant about my wrist. Theyve put a splint on it so that my thumb and hand dont move too much. Got to go back in 8 weeks to see if its fixed itself. I some how dont think it will as its still painful now. But we shall see.

thanks for ur advice everyone and ur kind words of support.
