Dear fellow Grover's members:
Trying to follow up on successes using Selenium Sulfide Solution 2.5% as a topical like shampoo used on the infected area.  I read a post by a member who had significant success with it, and it was recommended to him by the Chief of Dermatology at a major medical university.  My dermatologist prescribed it to me the end of March.  So been using about three weeks.  I have seen some improvement, but I understand it can take up to six weeks or more to see results.  Anyone who can comment on this?

Also I am thinking about asking my dermatologist about intreconazole or UV light treatment as a complement or substitute.   Any opinions on those treatments would be greatly appreaciated.

I have found Sarna to be a God send in helping control the itching, and keeps the outbreak at bay.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks, and Happy Easter.

I'm still in the process of figuring out what I have (scabies? Grover's? PLC/PLEVA?) I'm also changing dermatologists today as the first one wanted to treat for scabies again (done that twice already) and told me to get rid of my cats. Um, no.

All of which means I haven't taken any prescription medication except for a 15-day dose of prednisone which I finined on 5/1. Since then, I've been doing acupunture, using a lot of tea tree lotion, and last week added bromelain (40 mg/3x day) and a tanning booth (5 minutes a day). Over the past week I've seen noticeable clearing and a LOT less itch. I don't know if what I had has run it's course, or if what I'm doing has made a difference.

I get the tea tree lotion here: http://www.webvitamins.com/product.aspx?id=3827
