Snow!  Snowsnowsnow!  For the first time since we retired, we're getting enough snow that I can really enjoy not having to commute in it or call to request leave.  Evil Laugh The only disappointment is that DH, Coco and I were going to go to our first training class tonight, and obviously that won't be happening.  But we'll have an opportunity on Saturday, and we'll just do more practicing between now and then.

Speaking of both snow and Coco, this is her first snow since she's been with us, and she doesn't know what to make of the stuff---it's covering all her potty spots!  I remember when Shadow first experienced snow as a puppy, she couldn't understand that she could still go in the white stuff, so she held it all day.  Finally, in desperation, I took her out with Cricket who was about five years old then and knew all about snow and pottying.  Cricket promptly squatted and sprinkled, and the look of relief on Shadow's face was priceless as she followed suit.  Grin  What a hoot!  As for Coco, I know in her four years she's coped with snow, so I'm sure she'll figure it out.  Smiley

*giggle*  Sorry, CJ.  Grin  I've just really been looking forward to our first "retirement snow" and it was very pretty falling.  OTOH, the roads were slick enough to cause some skidding by 7AM when I went grocery shopping.  I was happy not to go anywhere else today.

I hope you don't have to do any more shovelling!

Well, enjoy your first bout, and hope it's your last........

We had more last night, but just a pleasant skiff -- I also enjoy it falling, particularly in the amber lamp lights -- but whoa....enough.....The $$$ toll on lives and vehicles has been astronomical. The snow is manageable, but the black ice has been a killer. Sad

Back ice is the worst. It's so very dangerous and it's not even pretty. Sad

Heeheehee!  Okay, I don't usually go that early, but I knew the weather was going to be bad and wanted to get out and back before I couldn't.  Grin  Usually I'm still sawing logs at 7AM.

Matt.

Hes such a cheeky boy !  Spank  ROFL

I love to see the snow, but am bored with it after the first 5 minutes  Wink Of course the kids love it, but it isnt good for business for us. Where we live in the country, we are right at the top of a hill and I swear we have our own mini eco system. We drive 15 minutes down the hill to our work unit and it goes from 4 inches of snow to not a speck.

Anyways, we have had snow every year in our little village. I adore this picture of Gabe  Wink His first experience, bless his little paws, I still miss the furry bugger  Undecided

I tossed Silver out into the snow once, just to be mean. He was back in the house quicker than my eye could follow and hasn't tried to sneak out the front door since. ROFL

I am rather perplexed. What's this snow stuff you're talking about?

Liga, I'll bet you're on the  east coast. Want to warm the thread up a bit. How about 49.5°c on front verandah (in the shade) three days last week, bit cool past couple of days (38°c), even cooler today, only 32° at the moment but back over 40° tomorrow.

Now what the hell is snow? How about you all get your imaginations working and describe it for me. Grin Wink

Yes I am on the east coast, in Newcastle, to be exact, Charlie. Where are you?

It is great to have another aussie on here ....  Hugs

Hi Liga,

I'm in South Oz, in a little town called Mannum which is about 30 kms north of Murray Bridge.(about 80 kms from Adelaide).
Moved to Mannum 12 years ago after having to retire from the workforce due to failing health.Lovely little place, right on the banks of the River Murray (or what's left of it). River level is about 6 feet down on what it should be.

Another scorcher forecast for today, round about the 45° mark.

Fetch on that stuff you call snow  Grin Cheesy

Don't want to much though, I might lose Ladybug in it. (My dog in the avatar)

At 45C (I suppose it's C.).....can only imagine how terribly uncomfortable that must be, especially for your Ladybug -- looks like an Eskimo miniature dog, the proper name escapes me at the mo.......I reckon you should pop over the Ottawa, Toronto, or perhaps Chigago....or heck, UK........that'll cool you, and never fear, Ladybug won't disappear. Can you even breathe properly in that heat?

Never thought I'd say this, Roll Eyes but the temps of minus 18C that we experienced in December here. are preferably (to me) than that heat.

Hi Jane,
Yes it is centigrade. Currently on the front veranda (in the shade) it's 47°c (116.6°F)at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.Out the back in full sun, the mercury has gone off the scale(it goes up to 55°c).
A little on the warm side you might say.
Ladybug is a Samoyed. Rescued from the pound. She was dumped by some ratbag. Had her for near nine years now. Me other dog is a Kelpie. A real troublemaker, but he loves everyone especially kids.
As for living anywhere else, no thanks, I just love a sunburnt country. You mention the UK to live, that's a big no no. I left there 46 years ago, haven't been back, no intention of going back. Yes, I'm an ex Pom, but I class myself more of an Aussie than some that were born here. (now watch all the Poms have a go at me) Cheesy

Minus 18, don't think I could handle that. Toooooooooooooooo  coooooooldddddddd.

What a darling Dodger is!  And what is he doing in the tree?!  Grin  Both your dogs are beautiful, Charlie.

I cope far better with cold than heat, but maybe that's because when we get heat around here we also usually get humidity.  Tongue

Hi, great dogs you have. How does Ladybug do in the heat? *Phew*, all that fur. Beautiful dogs.

I'm an ex-pat also from Manchester and my tie to my homeland is very strong, but I'm forever grateful to live a just moment from the sea. Tropical girl at heart, by that I mean around 25C!
