My DH put on weight when he quit... it bothered him more than it bothered me. He started an exercise routine and is now in fabulous shape, curses.  He started out walking and now runs! Me, I'm a walker. And I'm also pretty chubby. Too much bratwurst...  |

Thanks everyone for replying and Itchy i will certainly try out some of your suggestions...Bamawing, my husband is just like you, he's not bothered by the weight gain at all, but i am.... will need to get the walking shoes on, but with the hs , i can't walk any distance without looking like John Wayne and my legs on fire....

 You are doing so well giving up Smoking Annie, WELL DONE !!  I can not offer any advice on the weight gain thing either, O dear, me and hubby seemed to have replaced cigerettes with CAKE  When I complained to my unsympathetic doctor about my weight, she didnt seem to understand how it could be a side effect of not smoking  Granted, she was about 12 years old, 6 stone wet through and obviously hadnt smoked in her life (nor done anything else remotely naughty either I would guess)  Dont smoke Eat Cake Be Happy
