I've been in the chorus of my theatre's production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" for several months now. We're now six weeks out, and Thursday, in the middle of a shoe shop, I get a call from the director.
One of the lead males is sick and won't be able to go on.
I've been promoted!!

Excellent stuff!!!!!!

I was terrified of going on stage, so I always ended up helping out backstage with something or other.
