There used to be a "read all new posts" link (or something like that), if that's what you're referring to, but it was replaced with a "show new replies to your posts". The earlier link grouping all new posts was causing trouble in a way that I don't recall now.
If you're missing the entire header info, with your avatar and showing who's online and how long you've been logged in, there should be a little + at the upper right of your screen just below the Hon Code icon. If you click that, your header info should reappear (and the little + will change to a little - ).
If you mean something else, I'm at a loss and maybe someone else can help.
