Having lost Petey a few months ago, & with Diesel gettign very old, i decided it was time for some new additions. So just over 2wks ago, these 3 came into my life:

Kaden

Tate

Finn

The photos aint great, but its hard to get them to sit stil. They're girls, which is a huge change, in all my yrs of keeping rats, its always been boys iv had, even the few iv looked after for other ppl were boys..

They're bout 8wks old now, & very fidgety..

my friend came round yday with her daughter, whos now almost 12wks old. Little Eilidh was fascinated by the girls, tho of course we didnt let her close enough to touch them incase she hurt them (or they nipped her..)

How cute!

Do the new additions get along ok with Diesel or are you keeping them apart?

Wooley

With the new additions being female & Diesel being male, we had to keep them apart. Sadly, Diesel died on Friday night, so keeping them apart is no longer a problem. The girls are now in his cage, which is alot bigger than the 1 they were in, so they're happy exploring it.

Thanks guys  Hugs He was old, i was expecting it, tho maybe not quite so soon.. The vet had given him a wk, 2wks tops. He lasted 2 & a half wks. He had a nosebleed on Thursday, i guess that was the warning sign Sad I got home on Friday & he was very cold, so i put him in his cozy pouch, which helped a little. He died just after 9pm on Friday night. He went very very peacefully, which was a great comfort to me.

Wel the new girls are def showing their true colours now..

Finn is quiet & content to just pad around on her own, loves getting cuddles & human company. Tate & Kaden chase each other aroudn nonstop & always want out the cage. Tate is bit of a chicken tho, she gets scared easily. Last night she got scared by me knocking a remote off the bed - she went & hid for 20mins.. Shes the smallest of the 3, & can fit under my bed & wardrobe. She always comes out tho, so i dont mind her hiding. Kaden on the other hand.. God, Kaden is hell on 4 legs. She loves to nip at toes (tho all 3 do this, shes worst), can also squeeze under the wardrobe, but can jump from top of the cage to top of my tv, top of the dvd player.. (ie; dangerous places she aint meant to be in..) & not content with being able to leap from the floor onto my bed, Kaden learnt a new trick last night. She did it a few times, so i was lucky enough to be able to catch her in the act.

Unfortunately my phone is playing up & now i cant send the pic to ym email, so cant post it yet Sad

(Have written an 'i am not amused' email to O2 - im good at that - theyre sick of me now Smiley So hopefuly it should be sorted withing next few days & i can post the pic..)
