ultra-sensitive clicking?
« on: Sunday March 02, 2008, 09:21:40 PM »
Darnit, I just typed all this in and then clicked something wrong and it disappeared!  I'll try again.

I'm having a problem trying to right-click on links to copy them.  If I right click any link, I'm automatically taken to the top of the SkinCell screen and can't copy the link because I'm no longer positioned over it.  I don't think this is my mouse--it happens both at home and at work, and has only been happening for a couple of weeks.  I haven't changed anything among my own settings to cause this, and with it happening on two different PCs I wonder if the settings on the forum have changed.  (I did change the settings today to see if I could make it stop, and I can't, so I changed the mouse settings back.)

I like being able to double-click my way from the bottom of a screen to the top, but this is getting nuts!  Sometimes it even happens if I do a single left click, but it ALWAYS happens if I right click.  :(

Can someone help?

Hi TF,
Nothing has changed in the forum settings that I know of.
Can you check your mouse settings again.
In particular, if you go through Control Panel / Mouse / Buttons / Double Click Speed.
You could try changing the settings and experimenting with different speeds.

The odd thing is that a right click should not be the same as a left click.
The forum is set up for double left click to take you to the top of the page. Right click should always open up your alt menu

I've done that, but I'll try again.

That's what I thought, but the problem is getting worse.  I think I'll try another mouse (I'm sure we've got one) and see if I get the same reaction.  The strange thing to me is that it's happening both here and at work, and I know the mouses are different.

Thanks, Nick.

Nick, let me try another mouse before you go to too much trouble.  I wasn't able to get to it today, but hopefully in the next day or two I will.

Nick, it appears it's my mouse.  I just tried my work mouse and am not having the problem with it.  (I could've sworn it was behaving the same way, but apparently it isn't)

Well, I've bought me a new mouse and the problem seems to be solved.  :)
