Hi, I realize it has been a very long time since any posts on here for Pleva. I was just wondering if anyone has had any new and current information on this disease? My daughter who is 4 has just been diagnosed with Pleva by a derm with a biopsy. She has had it for 4 weeks now and it appeared to be getting better until yesterday and now she is getting new lesions again.  She is on a steriod cream and second round of zpac antiobiotics. I realize this may last for years but I was wondering if there are any times when no lesions are present and for how long and when they come back are they as bad as the first time around? She has them on her trunk, neck, legs, arms and groin. Help! I am so sad and very scared for her. It is so strange as she seems to young to be overly stressed about anything and she doesnt get sick.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to tell you all my experience of this problem just in case anything i did can help. I'm 19 years old and studying at university. I was diagnosed in the first week of April 2008 and I'm almost completely recovered. I've only had a few light scarring which seems to be dissappearing more every week (having read  other people's stories I appear to have been very lucky..)
I started on tetracycline which stopped more lesions appearing, but I only did this for a month. I started taking E-200 food supplements which I can't say definitely helped but it may have contributed to my recovery. The main thing that RAPIDLY cleared up the lesions was the use of sunbeds. I'm in two minds about sunbeds but it was worth going.

I also used eucerine cream which was fantastic for the dryness.
I also noticed a huge difference when exercising more.

Hope I've managed to help someone!

Hi! My name is Johnny and I am a 28 year old male living with Pleva. I've ironically diagnosed myself via google about 2 years after 4-5 different biopsies over the past 5 years. Last year, after my last diagnosis, I was diagnosed with Pleva. After years of various treatments, nothing really worked other than light therapy...but that only worked once and when I began to flare up again, light therapy no longer helped. I also have blotches of white on my skin which makes me feel very weary about wearing short sleeves...It's more difficult in the summer though...Any pearls of wisdom?

Hello,  I'm new to this forum.  I have had pleva for about 1 year now.  I've tried erythromycin and topical creams.  I'm currently on methotrexate.  It helps some but causes me to get infections easily.  Does anyone know of any natural remedies for pleva?  Does the tanning bed help or make scars worse?  Do the scars ever fade?  Thanks  Teresa ?

At  another message boad I had a lady tell me that she took her daughter to a nutritionist because her doctors didn't have the answers (how well we know this). She explained that they found that a parisite in her body might be the cause. They have her on herbal medicines, which the mother seems to believe are clearing the Pleva. I am getting in touch with her so I can get more information to pass along.

Hi Lori im eager to hear from you about this herbal thing, did it you get in touch with the lady? If so what is the out come for you?
