TV : How to look good naked

Is anyone watching this ? ? ? ?

I recorded it on Tuesday and when i watched it I thought it was brilliant especially for those of us who hate our bodies.  Gok Wan knows his stuff, he is a genius when it comes to feeling good about yourself.

I have only watched one episode and found the show to be very enlightening.  I knew nothing about body brushing or why ex foliating is good for you.  Since having the kids I have not really looked after myself and have been on a downward spiral, anyway I watched the programme this afternoon and I went out and bought a body brush, ex foliating scrubs plus ingredients to make my own and tons of self tan moisturiser.

My skin feels silky smooth now :)  (thanks for the help Nick ;) )

Good for you Roni. It's very easy when you have children to just think of yourself as "Mum" and none of the other people you also are - friend, wife, girlfriend etc... mainly though well done for buying that stuff and getting Nick to help you use it!

I sort of know how you feel - last summer I was just getting to the point that I was ready to take action - joined a gym etc and then nature took it's course... but I've been making more of an effort this time to not gain as much weight and to (try and) wear decent maternity clothes (as hard as that is) and it's made such a difference to the way I feel and also to the comments I have had from other people.

It's definitely worth the effort to spend a bit of time (and money) on yourself, even if it's just for the confidence boost it gives you. When the comments start coming too, it makes it twice as nice.

 :hugs:

PS I haven't seen the programme yet!

You're 100% right Woo.  Since having kids I just dont give myself the time I need to pamper myself.

I'm on my second night and my skin feels fantastic and it has even made me think about pampering nick to see if it will have any effect on his skin... experiment time.

This sounds very interesting Roni... let us know how the experiment with Nick goes!

I love all that body care stuff, but I can't really use it as it tends to make my e flare :(  but I'm in full agreement about making yourself feel great.  Since January I made a vow to have regular pedicures, and can I tell you, for a small amount of money, it's such a lovely indulgence. :)

Roni - I recorded this last night, and just watched it. How inspiring!  The presenter is really fantastic, he's got just the right way of speaking to these people (not like other presenters I could mention who make people feel ridiculous).

Trouble is, I want to go shopping now!!!

  :shakehug: Bingo!

And that Gillian McKeith on "You Are What You Eat" who IMHO doesn't really look like a promotion for her own rules.

I get it on the phone quite regularly from my mum.

"Those two [trinny and susannah] are soooo annoying"

Ok, mum, I get you. Why do you watch it if it annoys you so much?

I saw those two on Oprah, and I have to say they are far LESS mean and annoying than the two who do the American version. :-\

Gok Wan is absolutely brilliant with the way he makes women feel.  I was that inspired I bought his book, which may I add is brilliant too.  The whole show (to me) revolves around women who have lost their self esteem because their bodies have changed (generally got bigger).

The show has really done wonders for me even getting me to wear skirts again  :o   I haven't worn a skirt in over 10 years  :'(

PS wasn't vikkis naked photo absolutely lovely  ;D

Roni that show was JUST the one I needed to see at the moment, as she was having issues with her body post pregnancy etc... although I have to say she looked pretty good anyway IMHO. She looked absolutely stunning at the end though after the make-up and everything had been done.

I think Gok Wan is FABULOUS. Not remotely patronising in any way at all - he's got just the right way of talking to people with low self esteem.  I absolutely LOVED that bit when he got the scissors to her jogging bottoms and T-Shirt and converted it into a more feminine outfit - there is a lot to be said for that.

Yes I got it from Amazon too! Seemed like quite a bargain.

Sorry to say I didn't tape Jonathan Ross but Gok did say that they are making another series.
