I have no personal opinion or experience with this, but I thought I'd share anyway.  It was published in the Dermatology journal 2007;214:325-327.

This looks like an interesting study, aenigma.

I was given a liquid zinc supplement by my herbalist, she said it is good for skin complaints, generally, if you are deficient in zinc. She also tested me using a taste test to see if I was zinc deficient, which I was according to the test. During the time I took the supplement my skin did make an improvement but it is hard to say if it was due to the zinc or to other things that changed in my treatment at that time.
