So let's say I wanted to attend.  What airport would be my best choice in terms of price and proximity.  I've noticed that I can get a plenty cheap flight coming into Gatwick from Boston, and I've got the holiday time racked up that I must use or lose.
Anybody know if rental car insurance is silly expensive?

Wow I would love to go, but unfortunately, I just read this thread,
and my own wedding anniversary is September 22 and we just booked other plans last week.

I know you people would be great to gather with, such a fabulous group.

Hey-what about that world traveler, ItchyChick> Hey girl, you went to Greece, you can probably make it to Rash Bash,  Tongue  I am just teasing you, I know you have a good sense of humor.

I hope everyone has a fun time, and please let us know how it went down.

(I am trying to think up an "American phrase" to befuddle Matt with)

 Oh, Okay, here's one:
Matt, I am just "Jagging your wires".  Grin

One day I am going to go to the UK and party on with the Rash Bash crew.

Hey Blue Sky!  I would love to go, but unfortunately this jet-setter has been grounded by real life demands once again (read: kids and finances!)

Maybe one day, Blue Sky, you and I both will make it across the pond for a Rash Bash - I suspect you're right... it will likely be a great party!

I say we all go the sumemr of 2009... that's when I'm going, and it's plenty of time to save up/make plans.

Actually, that's not such a bad idea... I hate like anything that my trip is being postponed, but if more of y'all agreed to cross the Atlantic with me, it would make it all worth it. Or the Pacific... Liga, are you in? Smiley

Well, rental over here is usually about £140 for the weekend (Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon, Hertz.co.uk from LHR) Insurance is usually included in the price. Petrol from London to Blackpool and back would be about 3/4 of a tank each way, at about £35 a tank.

2009, Itchy, 2009. I mean, you could go 2008... that's next summer... but I won't be able to go with you if you do. 2009, on the other hand... Grin

Hey, this might actually provide a good excuse to fly that ubercheap Canadian airline... Hmmm... Smiley

Ooh!  I  saw 2009, and wrote 2008.  No, 2008 is unlikely for us too.  Are you talking about WestJet?

Yay!! Going with you will make waiting worth it. Smiley And TF, I'm still going to pester you. 20009 will give you plenty of time to retire and save up... *pester pester pester*

I honestly can't remember what it was called, Itchy... all I remember was someone posting really insane prices... insane in a good way, you understand, as long as the planes were actually airplanes and not oversized balsawood gliders, propelled by a giant slingshot. Which wouldn't be out of the question, considering how low the prices were.

It may have been this one http://www.flyzoom.com/ which DH used in March.

I'm so glad you are talking 2009, as my children will definitely be more manageable by then.

By 20009, I'll probably be rather beyond a trip.  Grin  *giggle*  (Sorry, Bama, I couldn't pass it up.)  But 2009 may have a reasonable shot.  Hugs

I think it was flyzoom, Woo. Smiley $99 for one-way from Toronto? I think that's it, sure enough.

Come on, TF! by 20009, we'll be little ghosties and probably able to flit whereever we want! Laughing Out Loud

Oh dear... now I have to draw. In M$ Paint. Grin

I'm in the back, TF is in the middle with the kitty ears, and the red spot on Itchy's arm is a maple leaf.

Liga, if you come, I'll budge up a bit on the balawood plane and draw you on the back!!

Heehee... I told Dan that we might be joining up with Itchy, and his eyes got pretty big. I think he's scared of slipping up and making fun of Canada in front of you, Itchy, in which case I've already threatened to whomp the poop out of him. Grin (Apparently in Wisconsin, making fun of Canada is an official state pasttime. I think he sees himself trying really, really hard not to chuckle if you say "aboot.")

I declare 2009 to be the Official Huge International Rash Bash Extravaganza Thingie. Who else wants in? L, are you listening? Wink
