Hiya, Matthewc182, and welcome to SkinCell!

Did your doctor give you a diagnosis?  And was it a dermatologist you saw or a general practitioner?  What are you using to cleanse your face?  Often an ingredient in a cleanser can act as a trigger.  You may consider switching to a soap substitute if you're using soap, as they are much more gentle to your skin.  Whatever you try, give it time to work (or not) and give your skin time to recover between products.

Hi Matthew, welcome to skincell.

Please if anyone knows what it is or something that will clear it up I will be most appreciative.
You really need to see a dermatologist Matthew, if the treatment your doc gave you is not working. We are not doctors , therefore it would be wrong for us to guess a diagnosis. I do agree with TF , because you need to give the treatment time, stick to the instructions that your GP gave you and don't do anything else, so that he knows where he is at in treating you. Meanwhile, take TF's advice on using the simplest cleansers on your skin, without soap or perfume, and if after a while things don't improve then go back and ask to see a derm.
You seem to be quite young? all of this could just be a part of your body maturing if that is the case, and I'm sure some of the other guys on here will be able to better advise you.

Hey Matthew! Hi there

I can only echo what everyone else has said, although I will add a bit more....

When I was a bit younger (well, 10 years ago now) and everyone was going through the "spotty teenager" phase, for some reason I didn't. For me, it didn't happen until I was nearly 21.

It was awful, but it only lasted a couple of months, and then subsided by itself, and my face is relatively clear again.

As far as shaving goes, your condition might be agitated by it. I use the Gillette Foam for sensitive skin, with a Mach3 razor. I have to make sure I rinse well afterwards and use aftershave, otherwise it does irritate during the day.

Matt.
