Hi folks,

Well I've written loads of post on here about all the therapies I use for my E.  I've hit a wall now.  All of me is cured except my arms and face and across the back of my shoulders.  I've been taken evening primrose oil but must admit my juicer's broken so can't fix it with juice right now.  Have to save up.

However, I HAVE USED Freederm HC cream and it's brilliant for returning your skin back to normal...Check out all the pics and testimonials.

Apparently it was made by a pharmacist who had eczema himself, but he sold the patent to a Mum whose baby had eczema.  That's why it's now in public.

Well, it's Christmas and I want to look real nice in the photos I take with sleeveless dresses.

Took a professional photo this Wednesday gone and my skin was so awful, the photographer had to airbrush it.  Took years off and I look like I'm 20, but I can't get the image of my real skin out of my mind.  I've got both photos - before and after airbrush.

The good thing about Freederm HC is that it smooths out your complexion, so any blemishes or marks are practically gone in days.

I've just had enough and will buy quite a few to make me look pretty again.  Fed up with explaining to people what's wrong with my skin.  Embarrassed

Glad you found something that is working for you.  Where do you get the cream from, I would like to give it at try.

I bought Freederm in 2004 and it has 1% Hydrocortizone listed among the ingredients.  Not good.

I ordered this cream some months back and it did nothing for me. It actually made my face go as red as a traffic light. Ive since found out that they have changed their ingredients and have taken out the 1% hydr cortisone. But they havent changed the user feed back to match. I also had heard getting a refund it complicated.  Embarrassed

Please note that I have re-written this post, in the light of new information

Hi Aquababe,

Hydrocortisone(HC) cream does seem pretty miraculous when you first use it but you need to manage your use of it for this effect to last.  Basically, your skin gets used to it and it can gradually lose its effectiveness.  I think they call this “tolerance”.  Some people keep upscaling to stronger steroid creams (eg betnovate) because of this, which is probably a mistake.  I think you can also become psychologically dependant on it – understandable, you just enjoy looking “normal” and want to stay like it.

I've been there with seb derm and have learnt the hard way.  My approach now is to use HC for about 7 days and then stay off it for as long as I can – substituting careful washing, good moisturiser, other creams, avoiding triggers, natural products etc.  If you can manage a month like this, when you go back to HC you'll probably find it works fantastically well.  Then you repeat the cycle.  Don't let yourself get too bad, though, before you pull yourself back.  Take heart – sometimes the good periods can last ages.  Other times...........well, there you go.

Don't misunderstand me – HC 1% cream is relatively safe, even for long-term use, and is often used on the face.  Dire warnings about its safety are mostly nonsense and the “evidence” is anecdotal.  Rosacea sufferers are especially wary of HC because they fear its rebound effects, but I gather even their fears may be groundless.  Check out

to see what I mean.
The link
http://www.herosepharma.com/fig/Clin...abif%204ed.pdf
is an excellent resource for those who are frightened of HC.  Seems it could be quite safe.

My own derm has said something similar about long-term use of daktacort.  No, the real issue is not safety but tolerance. Other treatments are therefore preferable, if they work. In my case (seb derm), I'm hopeful that ketoconazole cream will prove a good substitute for HC – the Internet evidence looks very promising.  Watch this space.

I hope this is helpful.

As per usual, not everything works for everyone. As sad as that is, so we all have to look into things and try them, if they are safe for the person's use, with certain things, it'd probably be a good idea to ask a doctor or Dermatologist first before use.
