Hi everyone

I have recently started taking Apple Cider Vinegar capsules because I have read of the numerous health benefits to taking it, i.e. it aids digestion, is good for controlling weight, cleanses your system of bad fats, helps skin conditions...

Anyway, my eczema has been up and down over the past few years.  It was quite bad near Christmas time, as well as having perioral dermatitis, I had patches of eczema behind my knees, on the tops of my legs and on my stomach and they were very itchy!  And before that I had a very nasty patch on my nipple which was almost unbearably itchy!  Anyway, my cream sorted out the patch on my nipple, as did a change in washing powder (apparently it is very common for women to suffer on their nipples if you use a washing powder as the powder can stay on your clothes and irritate you, especially on your nipple as your bra is the closest thing to your body. So we changed to liquitabs and I always put things on for an extra rinse).  But the rest of the patches on my body never really went away and intermittantly itched like mad.

So I am now taking ACV daily and have seen a great improvement in my skin.  The patches I had have all gone.  So I would recommend this supplement for helping with the skin.  If you read up on it there are numerous other health benefits so in my mind its all good!  I couldn't drink it though as it is VERY vinegary and if you do buy it, prepare for the strong smell when you open the bottle, be it the liquid or the capsules! Smiley

Has anyone else tried this??

Hiya  Smiley

I'm glad to hear you found something that helps your skin condition, I haven't tried Apple Cider Vinegar capsules at all, but it is something I am considering for my HS, as well as the other health benifits you have mentioned  Wink

Thanks for bringing it to our attention  Cheesy

ACV is amazing!!  It helps to balance your ph level among all things you mentioned.  Another good thing is green apples.  And yes they have to be the green ones!!  One a day!!  You can do a search to find a list of alkaline and/or acidic foods.  Most people are a little higher on the acidic side of things due to our poor diets.  You can also obtain ph strips to test your levels at your local drug store.  People w/ higher acidic levels usually have more problem prone skin.  Just a thought!!!! Hi trueskin

That sounds like a good idea.  I do follow a good diet though, drink 2 - 3 litres of water a day, eat at least 5 portions of fruit and veg a day etc.  Problem is I am not too keen on green apples, I love Fuji apples!  Like I say the ACV seems to have really helped though so hopefully my skin will stay doing well!

Thanks for the tip though xxx

Hi Alexachelle....

I've never seen cyder vinegar capsules although I use it in my bath to balance the PH of my skin.

I love green apples and have at least 5 a day.  On a good day, have about 10.  Although one must find out the fruits you shouldn't eat cos the sugar in some makes your skin worse, eg, citrus, bananas and pineapples for me.

Now I'm confused, I thought vinegar was acid?  how would that help with high acid levels?

Anyway, I tried ACV for a while. I couldn't take it plain, even mixed in water was difficult. I finally settled for mixing it in apple juice.

Daisey....

You see that ever-changing professor you got as a picture?

That's what happens when the dermatologists give us something for our skin....

Only our skincells are so tiny we can't see the changes!! laugh
