I have been told by my OBGYN that I again have nonproductive ovarian cysts. He called this one complex. I have had these wonderful things before but never a complex one. I have read everything from they are nothing and ignor them to it is a precancer. Help.
Now I would not be so worried about this except, he called me himself 24 hours after having the ultrasound that the tech said  would take 5 days to read.
This stupid thing hurts well they all do. But now he has me worried sick, And my family is to go on vacation in three weeks that we have had planned for months. He said no overdoing it ( we are going sking) Doooh! Doooh! and my husband and I are not aloud to have sex Hide
HELP
And I need a hug

 Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs

I'm so sorry to hear about your pain and worry mnm mom.

I dont know a lot about ovarian cysts, altho I know they can be very painful as I have had them myself. Mine were caused by coming off the contraception injection, the scan showed multiple cysts on each ovary but I was having trouble conceiving. Thankfully it was only temporary for me tho.

Would it be possible for you to ring back the office and talk to someone about this again before you go away ? I feel they need to explain it more to you and hopefully put your mind at rest. Try not to worry too much, I know its easier said than done  Hugs

Hey mnm mom,

I really feel for you, I had suspected ovarian cysts about 18 months ago and I was as frightened as you.

Firstly, heres a hug for you  Big Hug

Don't stress yourself out by reading everything on the internet, I know what is like as I have done it so many times myself and had myself in tears and convinced of the worst.

When I had suspected cysts I was reading up on them.  From what I read, they are certainly not pre cancer.  They are just masses of skin and horrible as it sounds sometimes masses of skin and teeth.  My point is they are not cancerous lumps.  Some people live with them their whole lives and they don't bother them at all.  But when they are causing you pain you need to have them removed.  But from what I can gather you have them removed and then recover and you should go back to normal.

I would also say talk to your Doc about your fears and get all the information you can from him, instead of all this scare mongering on the net.  I know whats its like refraining from sex as well, its a pain!! Cheesy

Make an appointment with your Doctor before your holiday and ask him all the questions you have, that is what they are there for.

Let us know how you get on xx

Thanks,
I have a appt to see him before I go away.  1st of next week I have had trouble with cysts all my life, I lost my right ovary and half of my left to these things but this is the 1st time the dr called them complex. And the #$%&#! pain will not let me sleep either. it's 5:45 am here. and I took the pain meds he gave me. But with a three year old in the house I can't really take anything during the day.
Thanks again,
I will drink my tea and try to get back to sleep.

Hi Kathy now stop worrying about not being strong and whining......... you obviously are much stronger than you think and you definitely aren't whining...... Hug

Ovarian cysts are ruddy painful, well they are sometimes and then sometimes they don't bother you much, but when they do flair they can be agony, so whining no!

One thing I would say though is that just because your doctor rang you with your results earlier than expected isn't always a bad thing. He/she may have done so to put your mind at rest and also to let you know you needed to take it easy only, if there had been anything really nasty going on I'd bet that they'd have had you in that surgery quick smart....... so try not to worry too much. Hug

Let us know how you get on when you go and have a great holiday.

Mnm mom Im sorry to hear your having trouble with those blasted things. I hope you get some adaquate Pain relief and feel better soon! Nod Hugs I do know first hand how painful they can be. I had them from 14 till my hysterectomy 3 years ago. It hurt so bad sometimes i left school in an ambulance and work and so on. They would rupture whilst I walked and sometimes during intamacy and just sitting. Theyve been as large as galf balls sometimes.  It does get better tho! I wish you the best!

oh! You poor dear! Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs Hug I've had these darn things too, when I was younger. You ask your GP Everything that you want to know, and all that is worrying you.Thats his job, to listen. write it all down and take your list with you. and let him answer you as you reem it all off.I understand how you must be feeling, it's horrible, and he/she needs to put your mind at rest. They couldn,t  by any chance be pregnancy cysts could they? I was having heavy bleeds once and they said it was  these cysts, but  I wasn't pregnant.Apparantly they can be quite large.Nothing was done however and eventually they went away.I'm afraid I don't know much about gynae things, only what has happened with myself,I do know how painful they can be! Well I saw my OBGYN and he said that we will keep a eye on the cyst for the next two months and that the pain I am feeling is not from my cyst it  is from my back. well my back Dr says that the pain I'm feeling is not from my back he thinks it's from my cyst. The obgyn will not help me with the pain because he says it's not in his area. The back guy is being nice and gave me a little something. a overrated asprin. All the while I can't have relations with my husband because it hurts too much and the pain is not in my back it's deep inside.
I have no faith in Drs. right now.

Oh and the best part the Dr. (OBGYN) said I had to come into the office to talk about the test results and my husband should come too. Well the #$%&*#_at_ Dr. could have told me the results over the phone with the amount of time he spent with me. And he was mad that my husband was being rude to him by not coming even tho I told him my husband was out of town for work. And he made me wait 1&1/2 hours to talk to him for maybe ten minutes.
I think he just wanted to get his money, lets see he gets $30. from me and then the ins. company will pay him $120. *&#% for that kind of money he should have at least given me something for the pain. #_at_$*&^&*%$%^&*^%$# ^%& %^&$# Drs.
I guess I will be looking for a new OBGYN again!

Hi mnm mom, This sounds a right pain that you are going through, I wish you luck and hope you get something soon for the cysts.I have endometriosis and at present I am waiting for hysterectomy as it has got very bad, I am 36 and cant have any more kids as I've been told due to my systemic lupus and kidneys. So  I know what it is like to have extreme pain with cysts,my rheumatoligist told me that woman with skin diseases are more than double the chances of getting problems with their wombs and cycles. As the inflammation is similiar to the inflammation we get on the outside of our skin.

 Crazy

Well the cyst that should have been no problem burst today while I was doing my house work. The pain knock me to the floor where I lay for a moment before crawing to the bathroom to throw-up. All the while my 3 year old is asking me what is wrong and keeps bring me gifts to feel better and says don't cry mommy call daddy he will fix it. Well my husband is 8 hours away working on-site for a client. So after what seems like a life time i crawl to the phone to have it ring it is my best friend, I tell her what is wrong and she comes over. Before I can call the dr. my husband calls all the while I'm lying on the floor next to the bed because it hurts so bad. my friend takes me to the hospital where they say after reading all the test I had done last week that yes your cyst blew. they do blood work, sonagram and give me a great deal of pain meds. When the blood work  and sonagram comes back they say I know it hurts ( this is after my 3rd shot of pain meds and it still hurts so they give me more) then they do a internal exam. I past out. When I came to the dr. said your right it does hurt in a joking way to say he is sorry to have hurt me that bad. they give me more meds, now the whole room is pretty colors................... They keep me there for four more hours loading me up with fluids and more drugs. By now my husband is there and they send me home with with more drugs and tell me if the pain gets bad enough during the night come back where they will give me more pain meds and then send me home after I feel a bit better.
Well I get to see my OBGYN later today ( you know the one who said the pain was my back) and see what he wants to do. I can't wait Angry Angry Angry

 Cry Cry Cry

My three year old is staying with my friend. I have never been away from her for this long. I think that hurts just as much.
Well here I sit can't sleep because it hurts too much, it's 2:30 am here.
Well I think I will drink the rest of my tea and take more drugs and try to get some sleep.
I will tell you what the dr. says later today.

Big Hug Big Hug Big Hug O no, you poor thing Mom  Sad That sounds like a real ordeal. Hopefully now you will heal, now that its burst. What do you think they will do next ? Will some kind of hormone therapy be any good ? Or would they go as far as to remove your ovaries ?

Hugs Sorry that you have to be parted from your little one, but you must put yourself first for a little while and get yourself better, for everyones sake  Hugs Do get plenty of rest and look after yourself  Peck
