For over a week now I've been trying a vitamin regimen suggested in the "It Works For Me" column of NPF's new magazine.  The author stated categorically that it would clear P plaques in one to two weeks.

I'm afraid it hasn't worked quite that well for me, but the large doses of C, E, glutathione and NAC have given me a distinct improvement.  My painful, hot, horribly scaly flare of psoriasis immediately eased off to merely pink, moderately itchy dry patches which seem to get no worse if I don't have time (or the inclination) to slather them with ointment every time I should.  I was doing no better than this on scary, dangerous Methotrexate!

With summer coming, sunshine, tank tops and shorts, I may even be able to get a remission this year.  Woo-hoo!

One caution about vitamins:  I blindly began taking the amounts that were recommended by the person who wrote about them in NPF's magazine, and only got around to researching them after noticing that I was getting extreme hot flashes about 20-30 minutes after taking each dose of vitamins.  It turns out I was taking WAY too much B-Complex, and while some of the Bs are water-soluble and harmless even in large doses, some B-vitamins can cause lasting damage if you overdose.  The rest of the vitamins and the amino acids were all right to take in the suggested quantities, though.

So beware; do your homework; don't just take someone's word about a treatment without checking things out.  I'd go so far as to say even check out what your doctor prescribes, just so you know what all the side effects may be.  It never hurts to be informed.
