I have recently started going out with a girl that suffers from Urticaria, she has had the condition for about 2.5 years and rashes up, as she puts it frequently, whether its salt and vinegar crisps, having a shower or just standing up in front of people she rashes up.
I was wondering if anyone in the forum can give me advice on how I can help her feel comfortable about rashing up round me, as at the moment she has to run out of the room which is really hard for me.
I was also wondering if anyone knew of any good web sites etc for people suffering with urticaria and giving them emotional support about their condition.

Cheers

I am sorry to hear about your girlfiend's urticaria.  Has she ever consulted an allergest or a dermatologist?

Well perhaps you could ask her if it is alright for you to stay with her the next time she has an outbreak or if it would be alright for you to accompany her if she feels she has to leave the room.  I think she probably feels embarrassed and self conscious about these episodes and does not want you to witness her rash and distress.  I am sure that as your relationship progresses with time that she will feel more comfortable being around you when she has an episode.  I think it really is a question of time and trust.
